Just think about the debates here on the 15-songs setlist (how optimistic we were before the official timetable huh?) if this album had been released before Glastonbury. We could have reach Radiohead thread's size.

reflekting
The album sounds great. It's a catch 22 that the songs they have played live catch your attention on record making it an easier to get into, however at Glastonbury you were still fully regretting the decision that they decided to do that. Controversial? Turtleneck sounds better on record than live.

kingcrawler
Listened to it twice in a row last night and even on my second listen it grew on me loads, another really great album from them. Nobody Else Will Be There, Day I Die, The System and Carin are my favourites at the moment. The main thing I'm enjoying is how refreshing the change in sound is. I love Trouble Will Find Me and think it's a brilliant album but it doesn't sound very interesting or exciting, just a cleaner version of everything they've done before. This is all pretty different and I'm glad they've moved away from that a bit.
bocumaroy
Been listening to live recordings of Dark Side of the Gym a lot and the studio version doesn't disappoint, really beautiful and think it'll become one of my favourite National songs. Likewise with Day I Die, which might already be my most listened to song of the year. Turtleneck is still naff, but first impressions of the album overall are pretty good. Probably got no chance but as a long shot I'll throw my name in the hat for any spare Manchester tickets.
jyoung
What a glorious record from beginning to end, full of ever changing lush sounds and consistently beautiful vocals. An absolute triumph.

nikkic
Top album. Obviously needs more time and listens to sink in but on first go it's fantastic, love the direction they've taken.

oneeye
Just picked up a copy of the album at my local record store, blue vinyl, smells lovely. In fact all new vinyl smells lovely Will be playing it over and over this evening once we've eaten, need to line the stomach first before hitting the Gin and giving it a spin; Friday night sorted I reckon.

Hugh Jass
Bought mine on HMV earlier. It's blue, don't think there's anything deluxe about it though.

I've no idea if it's the delux, it did cost me a penny short of £25 which is a little more than say HMV, but I put the extra down to supporting my local record shop Phoenix Sounds of Newton Abbot; use 'em or lose 'em is my thinking. Amy Lawn
Just looks like some are blue and some are white on inspection, no difference other than colour. Just leave it black though tbh, stop showing off with your coloured vinyl, I'm not 12.
the wonderwhy
Ah, blue is indies only apparently, white is standard. So no idea how @Hugh Jass has wound up with a bluey then.
