It was ridiculously hot in there last night. Made for a fervour. So much fun and very similar to the Sc**thorpe show. Liked the boxing referee call out to start the show.

Not sure how they'll ever top these type of shows/setlists.

Agreed. Unbearably hot almost, and the setlists/size of the gigs gave it some sort of otherworldly feel, like you'd never experience it again.

The saxophone player opened the show with Star Spangled Banner on Tuesday. Got booed off, was hilarious.

Was the Edinburgh gig just a bit out of form for this tour then?  Aint no-one coming out of that calling it the best ever anything.  In fact, I saw 3 gigs that weekend and it wasn't even in the top 2.

Don't think the band were off form, combination of venue and the omission of some of the big hitters ( tunnels, keep the car running etc) contributed to it. Still the best show I've seen at the corn exchange.

last nights set list at the Barrowlands! Now that would have been a different animal altogether

Excited for tonight and great to hear they're on form but still bugs me they've only been doing 17 songs. They did 21 when I last saw them in Earls Court - surely a band their size and for the ticket price should be doing 20 as a minimum?

Think this is still their festival setlist though. Would imagine they will play 2 hours next spring once they get into gear. They will want to play 7 or 8 from Everything Now most nights presumably.

Length doesn't concern me as much (ooh-er!) I'd rather a tight 90 minutes of bangers than 2 hours with padding.

Yeah but I think if people are paying specifically for a gig they should be playing a gig sized setlist. Festivals are different because time is at far more of a premium and people are paying to see loads of acts. So many great songs they could play for the additional 3-4, not like they're short on material!

quick twitter search some people saying it's the kooks. But no idea if that's true. hmmmmm.

I'd heard that...don't know why they would need to be tight-lipped about it being The Kooks. Risk of mass unrest in Manchester as the angry throngs can't get into see them??
