Anyone been? What's it like?

We have tickets for the Sigur Ros night and find ourselves strangely tempted to do the camping and next night with the Halle orchestra. Not the world's biggest classical fan but sci-fi themes under the giant radio telescopes seems fun

How was it? Security? Arena? Camping? Food?

Went for the New Order gig and can honestly say it was the best day/night out I have ever had. The place is absolutely amazing and the perfect setting for a concert.

I am hoping there will be some good gigs there this year.

I was told when they didn't do any shows this year that they hope to do more in the future - because they still have a few acts in mind that they think suit the site perfectly.

Tho I once threw a particular band name at Andy the organiser, that my missus thought would be good there - and he sounded quite keen at the prospect of them. So it might have been them.

Realistically, there's bound to be quite a few acts that wouldn't be out of place there.

Kraftwerk definitely spring to mind, Orbital another that would work. Jean-Michel Jarre has scaled things back since his "city in concert" epics and would definitely not be out of place there.

It would be perfect for James, Depeche Mode, Pet Shop Boys or Hurts

Damon Albarn would suit it pretty well.

David Byrne whenever he next tours would be the obvious choice in my mind though.
