kickingsquealingguccilittlepiggy
I can sort something out for everyone, but it's quite the task getting all the coordinates and will take quite a while. i.e. I'm not doing it. But if anyone else wants to use this website to get the coordinates of all the corners of the site then we can have our overlay back;http://leslieey.com/astronomy/global-pos.html?lat=51.15796450749741&lng=-2.577517032623291 The address search wasn't working for me though, so you've got to drag it over the site. I find zooming in on South Pilton works best. I have knocked this up for the time being anyway though, which should give you a rough idea.http://www.internezionale.com/glastonbury/index.html This one you've got to drag it where you want rather than entering a postcode though. I've just drawn a rectangle from the farmhouse down to the stones and a bit of the hill at the top of the park. I find it hard to make out where the boundaries will be to the east and west. Abster
How on earth did you do that? Sounds horrible It was the Friday night around midnight 2008, I was going from the Other Stage to the then called Dance Village (had popped back to tent for beers) I was on my 3 or 4th can of fosters.... As I approached the gate area to go into the dance village..... it was rather busy and muddy... I had a I'm going to fall and break my leg split second thought, was really odd in hindsight how I saw the outcome before it happened.... So I looked for a "safe" Less muddy part to cross and crossed into the dance village area. Thinking I was all safe I got my phone back out and carried on texting friends to say where I was.... Next thing I'm falling to the ground.... fell to the right legs went left.... As the mud was like concrete my legs didn't side across the ground and as I fell I heard a snapping noise.... these people behind me picked me up and asked if I'm ok I said no I've broken my leg to which they said well you are standing up so we don't think you have..... I then hopped over to some "crew" whom called an "ambulance" and of to the first aid tent I went... Next day I was X-rayed and plastered on site, first year they had a X-ray machine and had already x-rayed 60 people by 2pm on the sat when I got x-rayed.... So grateful Glastonbury has a great medical team and no I don't want to visit them ever again.... Was my first Glastonbury too!!!

kickingsquealingguccilittlepiggy
Pretty sure I have the kml for the site somewhere. Will have a butchers at work tomorrow. Didn't even know what a KML was until now but yep, that's exactly what I need. The 2011 one is freely available on Google Maps so I've updated that link with those coordinates. If you've got 2013 that'd be great. 2014 would be exceptional. I'll try and sort something out that means people can move it where they want a bit easier as well if I can. Well done - 2nd link works a treat. Tip: you can pick up and grab the shape and move it to the edge of your browser view to zoom to the part of the world you want to drop it on. Abster
Lesson: don't text and walk, but we all know that now - too late though! If it's a muddy patch I will be hands free! back in 2011 every time we came across mud my friends would take whatever I have in my hands away from me and keep and eye on me as I walked through the mud! I think they were more worried about me hurting myself than I was!!! Hindsight is a wonderful thing..... Do not under estimate the Glasto mud it's like concrete, unless it's in the soup form.... Cheers tommyds, but I don't think they're coordinates. I don't know what they are or how to use them. I have managed to sort something out anyway though... http://www.internezionale.com/glastonbury/ Works with everything I've tried so far. Let me know if there's anything that doesn't. You can type in anything from BA4 4BY to Australia. The more specific the better though I suppose... It puts your postcode in place of Worthy Farm. You can still drag it to get it where you want to if you need to. I particularly like how neatly it fits into Central Manchester. http://www.internezionale.com/glastonbury/index.php?location=M4+2BS

kickingsquealingguccilittlepiggy
Our of interest how are you using Google maps for this? I make maps for a living but I'm not allowed to use Google maps due to IPR just interested. Sorry to the rest.of.you for being boring Haha, I must apologise in advance also, but since you asked... Upon your suggestion, I found a KML of the site that a guy had done in 2011 here;https://maps.google.co.uk/maps/ms?msid=204427549755248732113.0004689b3dcbb8237149c&msa=0&dg=feature If anyone's got a more recent one I'm sure it'd be much appreciated by everyone... I get the coordinates of Worthy Farm from Google Maps, and work out the difference between those coordinates and each of the coordinates supplied in the KML. I then run whatever location is entered into the form through Google Maps to the get those coordinates, and apply the same difference to them, using PHP to work it all out and echo it out into the Google Maps Javascript. Tadaaaaaa! I'll be honest, working out how to do it twisted my mind more than any acid ever has, and at points I swear I was moments from seizure, but once I'd sussed it I soon recovered and I'm happy enough again now. I'm going to add some share buttons and that too at some point, but no more thinking about how to do stuff for tonight anyway.
