Zegut reckons they're playing Stade de France late June (over Glasto, in fact) so we must be looking at a European tour announcement soon. Watched the doc comfortablynumb referred to up the page last week and it was great. Proper wanna see 'em again.

edit: tho probably not at the prices they want me to pay, but I am looking forward to the option! :P

Not only there, but right down the front of the so-called No Filter Pit with the WAGs and supermodel offspring on one of the 4 or 5 tickets for it that were made available at non-ludicrous prices.  Jaw on the ground close.

Gig was great, albeit was a wee bit cheesed to miss out on Dancing With Mr D.  Still, Shine A Light more than made up for that, so swings and roundabouts.

Keith hasn’t improved any since last time out, to be fair, but it was quite something how loud in the mix he was and how discordant and edgy it made them sound.  Almost avant garde at points.

I was so wasted that afterwards I queued for what I thought was the train back to the centre but it turned out I’d been waiting in line for half an hour to see Dutch house megastar Headhunterz at the Ziggo Dome next door.  The bouncer was so amused when I waved him my train ticket that he was going to let me in for nothing.

There are two pretty decent Stones docs on Netflix if anyone is interested - watched them both recently.

This was my fave of the two - them touring across South America, culminating in their big free gig in Havana. Particularly interesting to see these countries and refreshing to see how excited/liberated they are by live music:

Also, a Keef doc. He comes across well and there's some great footage of him jamming with old blues legends:

They are creaking back to life again to the extent that (arena?) gigs seem likely in spring of next year - leaving the summer free for a handful of high profile 'farewell' gigs which - while not marketed as such - would almost certainly be them bowing out as a live performing entity.

Bang on

Thanks for that

I met Keith Richards for a few seconds sometime in the 70's either at the Glasgow Green's Playhouse {renamed the Apollo that closed in 1985} or the Glasgow Odeon as the Stones played at both venues on a regular basis  - I was in the Managers office as I knew him and his phone rang and as he was
speaking when Keith walked though the door and asked me where the Changing rooms were - I pointed him to the back of the stage and he walked out - amazingly he was carrying his own Guitar Case and walked down past all the fans getting into their seats and because it was dark no one spotted him.

Anyone read Keef's book? Got it on the shelf but a bit daunted by the size of it.

I gave away about 90 per cent of my books before moving, and that is one of the only ones that I kept. Really good read, especially for Keith getting a bit nerdy about the technical side of his sound and influences.

I fancy having the sort of cash where I could just spunk £15k (plus) on what is essentially just a thing to have bragging rights about owning.

Ok some may see it as an investment.

I wish I had £15k (plus) to invest.
