I thought that as I put it but then I thought how good an XX fr headline slot would be and put them anyway! Hahaaa

The others should definitely be there though, especially PEACE now they've just been signed to Columbia

Bestival exclusive.

Plus, way too big for any of the remaining slots.

Just had a listen to their new album and think Beach House would be a great booking. Probably high up, top 3?

Oh yeah I know about the Bestival exclusivity but in vain of the whole Tenacious D/ Download/ R&L kufuffle I thought i'd throw it out there
And really? I don't really think so! They're arguably smaller than both Pete Doherty AND The Horrors when they headlined the FR last year? Although I could understand a high NME slot to be honest

They've a mercury prize win, numerous brit award nominations and a debut album thats gone platinum. Reckon they could probably have gotten away with headlining the NME tent this year - so ye, its debatable, but I'd say they've a bigger crossover appeal and a much bigger buzz about them than Pete Doherty or The Horrors.

I'm thinking The XX headlining the NME on the Sunday at Reading next year, as the dance (sort of) headliner.

If the next album is as big as the first then yeah, but I don't think they have as big as a fan base as Doherty or The Horrors, plus in regards to the Mercury prize thing... Horrors won album of the year twice in a row and I'm pretty sure Sea Within A Sea was top single?

They're definitely bigger than The Horrors, obviously not as much of a household name as Doherty. but as said, they had large success with their debut album and are sub-headlining Bestival this year. I know it's a smaller festival, but given that they're hardly gonna take an FR headline slot.
