Surprised there's no threat already for Wickerman?
Well....I've got my ticket, never been before, so what should I expect??

I keep hoping they'll announce the line-up but nothing so far. You'd think they would be keen to get in on the act quick after t in the parks dull lineup.

Last year was April 14th, couple years before that was end of March. So I guess it won't be long.
Will be making my return after a couple years away, though I will be working it this time.

Am I right in saying they don't announce headliners till much nearer the festival??

No, they usually launch with at least one of them, and the other if not announced at first, is not long after it.
Check out the news archives on this site for Wickerman Festival, it gives you an idea of timings etc of them

I guess you could call me one of the old lags that used to attend the Wickerman. I don't go now for various reasons but mainly the change the festival has under gone. However. you will find it a really good mix of people and music. Everyone is really friendly, toilets are good, and the campsites some of the best I have seen. Music has so much going on with the main stage to a couple of dance tents and a reggae/dub tent, as well as scooter. For the size of the festival they have a lot going on.Surprised there's no threat already for Wickerman?

I won't say owt about the negatives, thats up to you to decide, but it is a relatively sound festival. I am certain that Paul will agree with me when I say that you can find some music up till 5 or 6am, which can be a rare thing. The burning of the Wickerman is something to behold, and it is one of the things I mis about not attending. One of the best ways to finish a festival I have experienced.
Have a good one

All festivals have negatives....I'm sure I'll find some like you say.
My plan is to do a recke this year to see if I can take my daughter to future WM's. We've been to Kendal Calling for the last 3 years and I'm a Glastonbury regular for more years than I should admit too ;o)
The important thing for me is relaxed camping, reasonable toilets and plenty going on!
Really looking forward to the Wickerman burning

With the Charlatans headling Magic Lounge About and Bingley Festival, are they possible contenders for Wickerman?
The Enemy or the View may also be an option?

Wickerman have tweeted today that announcement coming soon...............Reckon they will be getting a bit jumpy if another Kendal announcement is due ( and rightly so ).
I`ll have a stab at Toots, big country, Boomtown rats, the view, hot chip and Manics, PIL or Madness as my outsiders. Orbital would be a great shout for after the burning and The Wailers could maybe tour after supporting at the stone roses gigs x 3.

They tweeted the same thing a couple of weeks ago about a line-up announcement being "very soon". Wasn't till mid feb last year

I would think that the announcement isimin, imma, immen, erm, soon. Last years was mid April, although they only announced a few of the acts who would be appearing, to whet the appetite, as it were.
Personally, I would love to see Madness but I believe that they are not cost effective for the festival although you never know.
The Charlatans did perform a few years ago and they were, well, disappointing as were James last year, although the sound gremlins did not help James' set.
I'm not sure if I'll be attending this year, as I'm getting wed later in the year, and finances may be a little tight, but I suppose I'll make an exception if the line up suits my taste.

If bands are beginning to self confirm I'd imagine that an announcement may well be happening either this weekend or next.
