There is always a chance 3rd or 4th from top last time they played, but they may have lost there way a little. They are playing evolution emerging in Newcastle and are not headlining, they did last time they played, being a local band to EE that could be an indication of there fallen stock.

That's true, hopefully they're the spare slot on the Kasabian day then I don't care wherever they play as long as they make an appearance somewhere, would boost the line-up for me

Hell if courteeners are 3rd on NME, then Maximo Park certainly could be too.

Yeah I'd think Maximo are a tad bigger than them to be fair? although I also don't see them having any particular special guest appeal either to the masses? Hopefully I'm wrong!

Like hell will they. Them not being as big as they were can be partly attributed to them not releasing anything for nearly three years. I don't think they'll get massive again with their new album either - but its jumping the gun a bit to say that they've completely lost their popularity.

I suppose it depends how you define the size of band. Maximo park have probably had more hit singles and radio airplay than the horrors and I would guess a higher proportion of the reading/leeds fanbase would have heard a maximo park song than a horrors one. Its hard to predict how big the band are untill their next album comes out, I have a feeling they have another big pop song in them but time will tell.

I realise home advantage and all that, but they sold out M.E.N arena (you don't have to look up m.e.n.com to check it, that takes you somewhere you may not want to be ) and most of the other biggest academies across the country.

I'd also argue Maximo are way too big to play FR headliner, especially with what's viewed as a weak line-up.

Yeah they did that a few years back in their home city. But they haven't done anything in a while, and have nothing to promote at the moment. Plus last time they had probably the smallest mainstage crowd i've ever seen. TCV or not, it was fucking small.
