There is still early entry permit (wednesday) tickets available for leeds. They are normally first to sell out followed by the most commercial/strongest day then weekend tickets. None have sold out yet.

Early tickets always used to sell out or not be available this late what I can remember anyway.

Prob quite worrying for FR

DO you think?

I think FR are not daft anf they knew exactly what happening, festivals are on the downturn for the first time in over a decade thats all. They knew there wasnt going to be a quick sell out or even a sell out at all, why would they offer payment plan and free burger/beer if they thought it was going to sell out quickly. The only festival to do the payment plan that sells out quickly is glastonbury, so I think they knew it was going to be like this.

Me I quite like it, reminds of festivals in the late 90s when you had time to decide which festivals to go to rather than a knee jerk reaction.

at the end of the day (sure its been said but what ever)

its hard to call

on one side its not a particularly strong line up, arguable better than last year but i'd say 2010 knocks it out the water for example,

it is a recession and for its target market of young people £200 is a lot of money

on the other there's no Glastonbury this year (and oxygen, dunno if it counts) and the other festivals aren't looking to good ether, if i'm correct only V festival has sold out..

i think its anyone game, personally i'm feeling a similar effect of last year were it sells out last min, people get summer jobs and pay for it with that money...

Do we think the next set of announcements(whether that be tomorrow perhaps based on previous patterns or in a few weeks) will make any difference to any days selling out or will everything added be too insignificant in terms of sales to make a dent?

I think that when Lock Up is announced that could sell a few tickets and FR headliners. I know a lot of people last year who were sold on The Bosstones announcement. Plus FR headliners could generate a few more sales especially if they can get someone like Doherty or The Horrors.

I agree with thetime, surely they focus their line-up on what will sell every year? I doubt they go into a year without focusing on selling tickets, and I can't see much difference between this year and the two previous. It's still the same sort of bands.
