I'll give them all a listen. I know who they are and I know they had a massive influence on music. I had just never got into them, hopefully i'm swayed

I do hope so. They're the epitome of what is great about American alt music. Kim's bass playing is second to none, and Franks vocals are schizophrenic at best. They're quirky and mental. I love them so much.

I would say Chase & Status are a bigger act & more "current" than any act booked for the NME tent. I'd say they were bigger than Enter Shikari (radio play) & possibly Kaiser Chiefs nowadays on the main stage... subbing would be at a push though, would look much better in a dark tent in the evening.

I know i'm a bit late but just wanted to give me 2 cents on pearl jam and soundgarden. Seen both bands in the last few weeks, went to Download and IOW.

Soundgarden bored the hell out of me, the performance was lifeless you could see and it felt like they were just collecting there paycheck.

Pearl Jam on the other hand were fantastic, the best live band i've ever seen, i may be slightly biased as they are one of my favourite bands but they were genuinley brilliant. The energy they brought to the stage put soundgardens lazy performance to shame. My friend is a very snobby metal head and he loved pearl jam.

Also C&S at Download were pretty decent, didnt suffer from it not being dark, they dont rank highly in bands ive seen but i liked them more than i thought i would. My only thing was i hated them just blasting out some random bassline, they were much better when they were playing songs. Could do 3rd down main stage i think, worked for Dizzie Rascal
