you say Green Day are past their prime ... then you mention RHCP who are probably even further past their prime

never mind that they are one of the worst festival headliners i have ever seen....

if i wasnt already seeing Sigur Ros ... i would go just for them

Hey guys, was wondering if anyone could offer any advice about what accomodation to book in the area near the festival. I've never been in Paris before so I don't have a clue.

I don't think I want to be in Saint-Cloud neccessarily, I was actually considering Boulogne-Billancout because it's between the festival and the main parts of the city.

I just any advice at all really. I was thinking a hostel or studio apartment, but as cheap as possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

PS. camping isn't an option I'm afraid :(

the girlfried doesn't camp :) ?

geographically seen: go anywhere, metro runs the whole day and the connections are great in paris, you'll know as you've been.

I've been in hostels and budget hotels in Paris a couple of times, they're all crap and too small, but what do you expect, it's paris. main thing is that you've got a cumfy bed.

and come on, a room and bed, best even en-quite, is still a lot better than a tent...

just search under www.hostels.com or some similar site.

That was...impressive. Well done xD

I got recommended a cheap hotel near Bonne Nouvelle but I figured if you go that far Northeast it's going to take a lot longer by metro and we will be travelling out twice a day for 3 days so surely it's better to be close to the festival?

hahahaha...guess that's the main/only reason why guys don't camp isn't it :)

yes ok, the further east you stay, the longer it will take to get there and back, correct. and jep, search for sth closer if possible.

I normally go for www.bookings.com or www.hostelworld.com, hope it helps!

and for all the others here: camping tickets will go on sale beginning of April, they are always sold seperately (not too expensive) as camping spots are limited...you also get escorted to your little square by a nice French girl when you arrive, especially as a foreigner :)

I did the same as you last year, went to the festival with my girlfriend and used the mornings to do some sightseeing. We stayed in an ETAP hotel, think it was in Kremlin Bicetre and called Paris Porte d'Italie, or something similar.

It was about 50 euros a night, which was probably the right price for the room. It takes around an hour to get from the hotel to the festival but we didn't have any problems with getting the tube. More often than not we got the tube from the middle of Paris to the festival after sightseeing so took considerably less time!

Hope this is useful if you are still considering/haven't booked any accomodation yet.

On a different note, buzzenseine has placed listed Bloc Party and Little Dragon as day TBC on its website. Interesting news.

I agree, me too. It's not the worst festival and there are some nice new bands in there (dandies e.g.), the black keys headlining sounds cool as well.

but green day and placebo (who are subbing rhcp here in germany) are too weak for me personally,

Thanks

Hi,

I realise that this is a very long shot, but I'm looking for anyone who has camping tickets that they are wanting to sell on for this year's festival. I'm going with two friends who have already booked and have the 3 day camping tickets but unfortunately the camping is now sold out and, having never been to Paris before, I'm not keen on the idea of finding seperate accomodation. If anybody has a spare ticket or knows of a website where second hand tickets are advertised please get in touch.

Thank you!

First time for us this year :-)

Hoping one of you helpful people who have been before can help with a question - is the only entrance via Pont de St Cloud? Any idea if there's an entrance the other side of the park near Sevres?

I have emailed the organisers to ask and they've been really helpful, bless em, but the language barrier seems to be causing a problem :-)

Thanks in advance....!

I only used the one at Pont de St. Cloud to get in and out except for once -> there is one exit (don't know if it's also an entry) to the left of the main stage leading to a metro station.

But don't worry, I never had to wait long to get in and out and metros were never extremely full. don't imagine an english festival in paris, with 1000s of people trying to cram into one metro and then over the bridge to the entry, it's very different and well organised.

have fun. one of my favourites, and would always recommend it.
