Probably but I wouldn't rule out Vfest.
I'm off to see them tomorrow, hopefully they will drop a hint or something.

This is already in another thread.

Their new album is depressingly main stream - I'd guess at them being aimed at a more V audience now.

I dunno, that would seem a terrible waste. It is more mainstream but I think they'd still suit R&L more.

Its not a patch on the old stuff but its a bit harsh to say they fall in the n-dubz, olly murs and jessie j market. On its own without comparison to the older stuff its a good album. I thought Brothers was a shocker when I first heard it but thats grown on me as well. You cant really expect them to just keep churning out two man garage rock for ever, every band changes and trys new styles and sounds, I cant believe the shock from some people that their seventh !! album in has a more mainstream sound.
Perfect for Reading and Leeds if they get the right mix of songs in the set.

I saw them at the Apollo in Manchester on Tuesday and all it showed was how good they are when they do the songs when its just the two of them!

i think theyll be at R&L

Hopefully, it'd be a waste for them to not build on their success in the past year over here with a set at R+L. Sub slot looks likely I think.

Will be a great booking. Excellent to see.

I've never heard of them till a few weeks ago, why have they had such a sudden serge of popularity?

it's not that sudden. It was sudden last year when they released the last album. They had been gradually getting bigger. Then that album came out and they became huge.... no El Camino's out they're getting bigger.

Playing Highfield festival in Germany the same weekend as V, that also has a sister fesival the same weekend so hopefully they'll do that as well and that will rule them out of V.

Why didn't the hipster go swimming? Because it was too mainstream...
The Black Keys are popular but I can guarantee you that the absolute majority of people who go to V Fest have no clue who the Black Keys are, furthermore El Camino is a cracking album.

As un-cool as it may be to admit this- I've only just discovered this band and they are quality. Whilst you may think they have taken a change of direction their style is still much more suited to R/L than V. Would be a very good booking third-top on the main stage.

I did notice a lot of people at the gig last week had only just started listening to them and there was a bunch twats who didn't even the know the band yet they were literally in the front of the crowd.
