Looking to find some festivals in the UK - that include camping for under £60 for the weekend.. the smaller the better really, just wanna find some more independent ones rather than all the commercial ones! Any ideas guys?

Depends where in the UK you are.
Two I loved last year and aim to go back to this year are:
Chagstock on the edge of Dartmoor http://www.chagstock.info/ Excellent small festival, not overtly slick and commercial but neverthless well organised. Spotless toilets, good reasonably priced, locally produced food and excellent bands.
The Croissant Neuf Summer Party in Usk, South Wales. The best family friendly, small festival I've ever been to. Completely solar powered in breathtaking countryside. Great atmosphere and the sort of place where a four year old would feel safe. No details confirmed for this year but likely to be August 9th-12th.

One option is volunteer stewarding - then the fest is free. Most fest websites have a contact us re stewarding link.

Alchemy gets my vote.
Also like the look of doune the rabbit hole but have to wait to see if I'm working. It will be last minute.
My mate also went to insider festival in aviemore and said it was brilliant.

The Green Man in wales gets my vote. Fantastic festival if you are bringing kids. They get in for a fiver if under 12. Beautiful setting and good camping.

Good to see theres so many options in terms of small festivals...definitely the way forward. Think you get an age where the experience of a large festival of getting herded around like cattle, surrounded by drunk 17 year chav bell-ends, constantly bombarded with adverts and paying close to £200 a ticket starts to lose its appeal.

We're off to the croissant neuf summer party in August. First time there for us but we always like the croissant neuf area at Glastonbury so thought we'd go. Only 2,000 tickets available (I think) so hopefully should be pretty chilled out. Link is www.croissantneuf.co.uk

Brew at the Bog (run in conjunction with tasty tasty beer maker Brew Dog) is looking pretty promising. First year so not sure how it's going to go down, but at least the beer will be decent.

It's a lovely festival. I've been for the last two years and stewarded there last year. Small, manageable, very safe place to take kids with children's workshops. Virtually no litter, good food, lovely vibe. The finale with a lantern procession led by the kids with the lanterns they've made in the workshops is magical. We're off to the croissant neuf summer party in August. First time there for us but we always like the croissant neuf area at Glastonbury so thought we'd go. Only 2,000 tickets available (I think) so hopefully should be pretty chilled out.
