I can't express how much I would like watching Sabbath. But,if they cancel their concert, who will be the 3rd headliner? Slipknot,Def Leppard again? NO,I just want Sabbath!

Gaz, why do you keep talking like they've cancelled, they haven't cancelled and they aren't going to from as far as I can, just Bill Ward seems to want more money than he's likely to be getting and as a drummer he is replaceable, yes it won't be the original drummer, but it won't stop Sabbath playing im sure or else they'd just cave in and give him what he wants.
End of the day Sabbath and especially Sharon on Ozzys behalf isn't stupid enough to let this goldmine slip away just for Ward's sake.
Also you were never coming Download for the weekend were you? You've never even done Download before have you? If you're coming just for Sabbath fair enough but DL is much more than that, best festival going pal, and Ive done a fair few
I haven't talked like they've cancelled at all. I've said they were the only thing going for me there.
One you might know that my plan wasn't mostly to do Download for the weekend. But you've got nothing solid to even question that I've never done download before, you wanna see a pic of the wristband? the back wristband with white writing and Donnington Park 2011 in yellow on it still attached to my wrist? Think that cleared that one up for you eh?
Sabbath is, as I have stated already pretty much the main reason I'd go for a day, infact I'd prob turn up at 5pm just for that, I disagree majorly that it's the best festival going, the best festival for each person normally depends on self taste of lineup and Glasto is the best fest going, elt's me honest, I like many would go whatever the lineup.

I was asking you by the way, not telling you, can't you tell by my following comments saying come for the weekend not just one day as its a wicked weekend.
Fair enough is you don't like Download very much

Yes there were question marks there but the way you phrased it was very much towards I wasn't planning for the weekend and had never been so not had a chance to experience but fair enough.
I didn't dislike it but last years lineup being not so heavy was much more to my taste. The walk also from the campsite to the arena is a big turn off. I like being able to enter and leave an arena when I want to see a band and if I want to miss a couple of bands I can, but the trek is that fact that it's more or less easier just to sit through bands you don't want to hear than do that.
I found it friendly an all, I also found Soni very friendly but Leeds/Glasto more my scene. And I've been to a fair few festies now both for weekend and day tickets including V Fest and Sonisphere for days.

Thats fair enough, you should always go to the ones you enjoy the most, for me its Download.
I don't find the trek all that bad, but im used to walking. I try not to head back to camp once ive gone to the arena until the end of the day mind

That's my issue, if I'm going to leave and re-enter at a fest I enjoy generally more bands at, then I'm defo going to do it at Download and its a good 25 minute walk and that's when it's flowing. It's a nightmare I feel at the end of the night,

I actually think the walk is awesome! It gives you time to get a few tins down your neck before being raped at the arena for beer

I do this too!
I think most people do this, they'd be crazy not too. Thing is though if you didn't have the long walk you could just nip out and have a few when you were not fussed on any of the bands at a certain time.
I enjoyed my first download last year, the only problem was the weather on the Sunday was attrocious, and once I was soaked by the rain I then needed to trek back to the tent to change into more clothes to get warm again, missed a couple of bands through it, where if it was a little closer I could have easily done the round trip in 10-15 mins. I generally stay in the arena all day once there.
I had dressed in waterproofs, they just didn't turn out to be that.

Yes the time I did it or couple of times, there was barely anyone else. I am write in saying that the main stage used to be right outside camping in the race track aren't I?
It's for this reason mainly I think it's a pretty awful set out fest

Thats some bad luck for your car. I hate thieves, did you have much in the car? It disgusts me that when people are trying to enjoy themselves there are these scumbag just trying to take advantage and any given moment.
Black Sabbath though, it looks like they are still on even without Bill and the health of Tony. Looking forward to sunday night at the main stage this year. Hoping that the rain aint there to spoil it though.

I know the bastards done all the french made cars in the area they knew what they were doing and all they took was an empty sunglasses case (presuming there was something inside it) but any way they are hopefully dead now.
It doesn't feel like the full reunion without all of them but Ozzy & Geezer will pull it off if Tony isn't well enough.

So looking at Bill Ward's statement he is not getting a 25% cut?

Looks like its happening without Bill, but sounds like the doors open if he wants to come in at some point, some money and the experience is better than nothing surely?
Regarding above and the Sunday, it started raining 10am on the dot and didn't stop until around 8pm ish, nightmare, went to arena about 2pm to watch GWAR, then did Gaslight Anthem and Disturbed but went back to get changed, had chinese in noodle bar, missed BFMV completely but could hear the whole set then went back down for Rob Zombie and the rest of Linkin Park, the rain definatly stopped me seeing more bands on the Sunday.
Hope this year we get 2009 weather, that was ace

Managed to watch BFS, The pretty reckless and Gaslight. Went to try and find some shelter near the food stores etc, but was no good. Managed to get back into the arena after a change in time for Rob Zombie who was excellent.
