The setlist when he played in 2010 was:

Ghost
Back From Cali
Nightrain
Rocket Queen
Starlight
By The Sword
Sweet Child O' Mine
Doctor Alibi
Slither
Paradise City

So yes, he does and they're performed waaay better than Axl is capable of these days... and also Velvet Revolver song(s). ;)

Plus this year with the new album he should should be good, there are very few true iconic rock stars about and for me he is one of them and has been since the first time i saw him in 1987 or 88.

Yep. There are a number of splits where part of the issue is that only one member maintains the rights to perform a band's songs. Don't know how it works.
Really? How does it affect bands that want to cover other bands live, do they need permission? Seems like it would be impossible to monitor.

Myles Kennedy is so much better than Axle. Thought they were excellent in 2009 , highlight of the festival for me.

If people haven't got the last Slash solo album you need this in your life.

Yep, definitely true.

No idea how it works with covers, I think they have to pay royalties to the owners of the songs (ie. record companies). But it's definitely the case that when a band splits sometimes only some members have the right to perform the songs.

Not sure where to put this, but Refused have been announced for Nova Rock, same weekend as DL

They also have Within Temptation and Nightwish, I know people wanted these

Can't really see where they'd play, surely would be top 3 on main or 2nd headliner. Can't think where they'd play unless they accepted subbing 2nd. Would make me sad that they'd get given a lower slot than YM@6 if that happened.

A band/artist can perform covers of songs at a gig or venue as the place where they are playing pays a licensing fee so they can play whatever songs they like

The only time this becomes an issue is when cover songs are put on albums or when the band covering is making money directly from the song

I thought that was the case but without researching i wasn't too sure.

I think you play any ones tunes live and PRS sort out the rest.

I am appeased with the line up :-) just noticed they are a Slayer away from having the big snore (excluding Metalica in the snore bit) they might as well take the ultimate dump on Sonis last years line up by booking Slipknot for 3 stage headliners haha.

I like what I see so far. Sure there's some I don't care for (Megadeth, 5FDP, steel panther) but there's some belters too (billy talent, ginger, TERRORVISION!)

Happy boy.

Except the slash/prodigy clash. That's a fucking bitch.

Before announcing the headliner for Sunday 24 June, first some sad news. AS I LAY DYING won't be coming to Graspop Metal Meeting since they have cancelled their European tour.

Has Andy confirmed that Billy Talent are playing 4th from top on the Friday? From looking at it I expect someone else to be slotted in before Machine Head with BT playing 5th from top.....A Day To Remember would be a perfect bridge between the two.

I would say Billy are probably now big enough to do 4th from top. I've got slim hopes of Enter Shikari and A Day to Remember filling up the main stage but it doesn't look like there are any prominent slots left for them.

I think Every Time I Die could realistically play Download this year. Think they have US dates over Soni weekend.

Either way the line up is banging this year :)

:( missed them last time they played due to the tent being stupidly rammed so was looking forward to catching them this year, although i could quite easily be appeased by them being replaced with Bleeding Through (if you're listening Mr Copping!)

Every Time I Die would be an awesome addition to the line up. Though I really do hope As I Lay Dying haven't cancelled all of their tour.
