Hope not, if their reading performance was anything to go by a couple of years ago !

Would have Slash back in a heartbeat though

No festival promoter in their right mind, with strict licensing conditions to adhere to, will book Axl Rose, who has proven he can't/doesn't want to turn up and/or perform on time.

Again, I'd rather see Slash or Velvet Revolver back.

Am I the only person who really enjoyed their set at Reading?

Apparently, yes.

Chinese Democracy was a complete stinking turd of a record, and I have no plans to see Axl Rose's solo band.  Velvet Revolver or Slash solo are far more representative of the music of Gn'R than Axl's band.

T in the Park has strict curfews on the Sat + Sunday - they extended it with Blur because Coxon had food poisoning, but the police wouldn't do so for an excuse such as Axl Rose couldn't be bothered to get here on time.

Can't speak for Reading, but they were brilliant at Leeds.

Also, have you actually ever properly listened to Chinese Democracy? It's an amazing album, certainly better than anything Slash has ever done, solo, snake pit or in VR.

I would rather listen to Lou Reed and Metallica play Lulu live than sit through Chinese democracy. And slash's solo album was amazing i think your mistaking it for something else ....

I bought all the Guns N' Roses albums when they came out.  I still have the original vinyl LPs of Appetite (with original banned cover) and Lies at home.

Slash's last solo album was excellent, and his set was one of my highlights of T last year.  I thought Myles Kennedy did a great job on the 4 tracks from appetite that were played, and had the vocal range to cover the high notes.  I also think the first VR album in particular was excellent - the second less so.

I have listened to Chinese Democracy a few times, but just don't like it.

guns n roses with the original lineup would be one of the best headliners they could ever get

if the rock n roll hall of fame announcement is anything to go by :D

Not happening, ever. You've probably got more chance of performing oral sex on the Sunday and not catching any diseases.

I'd rather have Blink back. Reading '10 headliners were woeful (except Saturday whether you were at Arcade Fire or Enter Shikari/Pendulum). Blood Red Shoes did a better job than Axl & whoever.

Thats just silly! Sure Chinese Democracy wasnt the greatest album but it is a thousand times better than Lulu which was a disgrace of an album, I would love to see Slash back as I missed him last year due to clashing but Guns N Roses (if they appeared on time) would be a great headliner especially if they got the original lineup back together but I really cant see it happening

Don't think theres any chance of the original line up ever getting back together although would be amazing to see. I know Slash is in the process of making a new album with Myles Kennedy and is talking about tours but think T might come round a bit soon.

I reckon he will be announced for Download this week and that's a month before. Also, he FB'd last year that he would be back to headline Scotland this year so I reckon he will be on NME. Miles Kennedy is every bit as good as Axl at the GnR songs. If GnR turned up I would go and see them purely because I like their stuff more than anybody else that is likely to be at T. If it was DL or Soni however I doubt I would be seeing them!

You clealry needed some cowbell in your life courtesy of LCD Soundsystem who were an excellent excuse to miss GnR that weekend.

This is the wort discussion i've seen on here we shouldn't even be suggesting that Axl Rose and his band should be at T he would turn up late or not at all. The only way i would actually consider Gun's and Roses to play is if the originals play at the rock and roll hall of fame. But there is more chance of Daft Punk playing Rockness again than that.
