i saw Aphex a few weeks ago, DJing at the Warehouse Project and he was magnificent.  though in all honesty it could have been a cardboard cut out sat up on stage silhouetted against the big screen visuals.  mind you, the shape Mr James' head is pretty iconic these days!

you can keep your Skrillex though.

I think it's a lot harder to predict the future of dance music than other genres.
The scene can completely change from one day to the next.
So what might be popular at the minute might not be in 18 months time.

I've never saw Aphex Twin but friends who have seen him have said he can be very hit or miss. Like Fatyeti24 said when they saw him he was magnificent but when a friend saw him at Space in Ibiza she said he was abysmal and she's a big Richard D. James fan.

I'd like to see the likes of Joy Orbison, Scuba, Pariah, Julio Bashmore, Eats Everything, Waifs & Strays, XXXY, Mount Kimbie, Mosca, etc.

Feed Me with teeth visuals
Modestep live
Gemini
Camo & Krooked
Andy C's Alive set
Sub Focus DJ set
Drumsound & Bassline Smith
Brookes Brothers

All feasible. I can see Skrillex & Magnetic Man in some form being there in 2013.
Hand over a tent to Hospitality for an evening.

I doubt that Glastonbury would give one of their tents to Hospital to curate, even for a night.

If they dedicated a night to Drum & Bass in one of the tents (although I haven't listened to it for years) I would want to see:

Roni Size
Goldie
Dillinja & Lemon D
Adam F
DJ Die
LTJ Bukem
DJ Randall
Kenny Ken
Aphrodite

I was there! First time I'd seen Aphex not as near the front as you mind - I was pretty sober till about halfway through Aphex..then my mind goes blank :|

The visuals where they get peoples faces from the crowd and distort them was pretty cool

You know the 2nd room small room? I'd never ever noticed that room before near one of the bars..dunno how

and the seating area where there's a bar just past 2nd room..lol didnt know that was there -- do they change the layout?

I would love to see The Magician aka Stephen Fasano, love this guys sound and also Todd Terje. Both would need to be in a random tent (not in the dance villge ideally) at about 3am..

To be honest, Space was a weird choice imo ..the lineup before and after Aphex was like wtf..didnt suit the night at all- Aphex Twin should be on with similar types of music Squarepusher etc not james zabiela

plus in my opinion, a lot of people going to Ibiza wont be interested in Aphex Twin and will think it's 'noise' or not 'scene' and prefer the 'scene' / 'cool' music aka Crosstown Rebels/Jamie Jones etc

haha ok fair enough not everyone likes Skrillex..im sure some people who attend would though :)

Hospitality would be sick! And it's pretty popular now, more than 3-4years back a lot of people I know who dont like DnB have mentioned going to hospitality..

They won't, but it'd certainly attract more people to the Dance Village rather than using it as a pedestrian walkway.

A previous thread last year highlighted that the Dance Village needs something done to it.

I haven't been to the Warehouse Project for a while, last time I was there was 2010 but the layout hadn't changed since the first time i was there in 2007. I like the 2nd room, it's pretty much just a room that's been made from sound proofed curtains if I remember rightly and the seating area that's filled with deck chairs? What a venue, shame it's gone forever.

It would be brilliant & would appeal to a lot of people there. Names like High Contrast, Netsky are getting pretty big now & their nights are always a sell out at Brixton. Hospitality tent at Global Gathering was brilliant too.

Get yourself down to one! The attendees aren't your typical DnB chavs thank god.

I thought that too, the predominantly house & techno music policy at "We Love" at Space on a Sunday doesn't suit Aphex Twin at all but, I have heard from other people who have seen him in the UK at nights more specified to that type of music, that his sets still can be hit or miss. I personal would love to see him I think he's one of the best ever producers of Electronic music and if he played in 2013 I would not hesitate to be there.

I could also see Glastonbury booking a lot of the Crosstown Rebels / Hot Creations acts in 2013 if that is still was is "in" after this years season in Ibiza.

Yeah I agree that it seems that people just use the dance village as a short cut from the John Peel tent towards the Other Stage.

but

Dance music in my opinion is something that is more an after hours entertainment than daytime and with regard to sound restrictions what exactly could they do to make it more appealing for a daytime crowd?

yep just a curtain near one of the bars.. I honestly cant remember if there were chairs in the seating area, it had like little material blocks of seats , might have had deck chairs..didnt spend too long in there

im just surprised..I'd somehow never seen either those bits before, or can't remember seeing them and I've been a few times before went 3x this year and 3-4 last year :|

i know what you mean, i think i only discovered that seating bit at the closing party this year, and ive been going a few times a year since it started!

i blame the darkness, the wonky floors and my own inebriation - i had some good nights in that car park.  sadly though i hardly remember Chic at all, bar Nile Rodgers' white outfit.  i didn't even know Johnny Marr was playing with them till i saw it on Youtube a couple of weeks later!

lets hope they get a good spot for the next venue.

I'd expect to see Knife party, Nero, digital soundboy + 2 bears on the bill somewhere.

Personally i'd like to see
Modestep (live)
Wookie
Sub Focus
Bentley Rhythm Ace
Nicky Blackmarket - jungle set
I heard Goldie was re-releasing + touring live with 'Timeless' so that would be good.
