I've just checked Coldplay tour plans next year.

Weekend before V Festival,  11 August 2012: Coldplay are at St Paul, MN - USA

Weekend after V Festival, 28 August 2012: Coldplay are at Copenhagen - Denmark

Hopefully this means V Festival in between!! C'mon!!! As well as that, Neil has them listed on the V rumours!

I'll be well chuffed if it's Coldplay headlining with the Stone Roses (TBC). C'mon!!!!!! feVer!!!!

This means nothing really, Foo Fighters amongst other bands have played V Festival over there but not played the UK one, in fact I would say it means that it is less likely.

Neil has them listed on the efestivals V rumours. This gap in the tour dates keeps the rumour alive.

Maybe Neil can give us a clue where the rumour has come from?

wouldnt take much interest unless its down as strong rumour, probably because they are around and wont do r&l.

but have v ever had a headliner that have done a full stadium tour that summer? dont know the answer and cant be bothered to research it.

but saying that saw coldplay at werchter this summer and they were excellent.

Oasis have (maybe more) but they normally like one of the headliners to be proper exclusive so with Stone Roses also playing doubt it will be them could be wrong though.

Foo Fighters headlining V in 2007 or 2008.. i'm not entirely sure which one.
I think Coldplay are pretty much shoe ins too headline to be honest.

Foo Fighters is a strange one as they've only done two dates each of their last UK tours I think.

Also, which one of the above indicate a V Fest abroad date?

The chances are they wont be playing, this website is normally well informed.

Wanted to see Coldplay this year and was hoping they would be at V as i'm only 35 miles from Chelmsford.

Killers and stone roses!! Each to there own but no thank you! That's really weak headline acts if it's true! Killers 3 times in 6 years, thanks V.

Yeah just seen Coldplay have been removed. Gutted. I was really hoping they'd be back this year. Not been on at V since 2003. Noel's been added though :)

Every website i am checking Coldplay are still listed as a rumour? Can someone please link me the page where they have been removed. So if Coldplay are definitely out of the line up picture, that leaves us with The Killers and The Stone Roses? Pretty poor. Unless there are two very good head liners on the 4Music stage, V can kiss my sorry ass.

They were listed as a rumour.

http://www.efestival...12/lineup.shtml

Stone Roses are huge and Killers are big. V normally has big 'dance' acts on the 4 music stage.
