I open this tonic for everybody who wants to ask for information about PP'12.
Pukkelpop 2012 will take place on Thursday 16th, Friday 17th and Saturday 18th August 2012.
Any rumour? In Belgium everybody is pretty sure that Foo Fighters will headline next year edition... and what about Eminem?
Do u think that lot of artists from PP'11 will go back to Hasselt next year?
Will PP suffer the consequences of this year storm with a lower attendance?
What do u think about refunding money in drinks vocheurs?

Yeah, I'm planning on going. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if Foo Fighters headlined, Dave has a rep as the nicest man in music so it would be no surprise at all if they came back.

I've gone for Foo Fighters. I can't help but feel that they are nailed on. Also got all "fantasy island" on it and said AC/DC too. Realistically I went for Selah Sue, just started listening to her stuff and it's brilliant.

Rise Against, Face To Face, Fleet Foxes and Bring Me The Horizon are confirmed by http://concertful.com/ for Pukkelpop 2012
I dont know if it's a reliable source.... but if it's true everything points that 2012 line up = 2011 line up (or quite similar)

If I can round up a recruit of two I plan to attend again this year. Feel like I want to go back, even if it just once, following the events of last year. I'm not sure that there would even be a festival if they'd given full refunds on the tickets sold, it would have surely bankrupted them. Difficult situation, no ideal solution.

Although I've said this in previous years and still ended up going, I'm pretty certain I won't be making it to Pukkelpop 2012. If everything goes to plan, my wife will be giving birth sometime around 11th August and there's obviously no way I can squeeze in a weekend in Belgium (or anywhere else for that matter!) at that time. All the friends I go with or meet there will be in attendance but I'll just have to let this year go and make plans for 2013.
I'll probably still come on here from time to time though to pass on any any info I pick up. Speaking of which, saw last week that the first name has come in: Apparat -17th August

Reckon i'm going this year. Where's the best places to fly into for this? Anyone know if you still get free train travel with the ticket?
Once the lineup is announced i'll get booking. Any news on when it's released?

By train it's about 3.5 hours, with one change in Antwerpen Centraal. Hourly service.
Probably about an hour quicker than that if you're hiring a car, depending on time of day / traffic.

Historically the first names have been announced any time between mid-March and the end of April. There's no fixed date.
But all the announcements always seem to come on a Tuesday, to coincide with the publication of the Belgian magazine Humo, which is a major sponsor.

See above about the line-up.
Train travel within Belgium has always been free with a ticket and I see no reason why this year will be any different.
For flying in, it depends on where you are flying from.
Brussels is probably the simplest as it has the best train connections for getting to Hasselt. But there are fewer budget flights (unless you go to "Brussels South - Charleroi" on Ryanair, but then you're miles away again).
Antwerp airport is mainly business flights and costs an arm and a leg to fly into. not generally recommended unless someone else pays for the ticket...
Eindhoven is geographically the closest, and there are cheap flights from London Stansted. But the problem there is that once on the ground the public transport links to Hasselt are a pain and it takes almost as long as from Amsterdam by train. There are buses but you have to change at least 3 or 4 times and takes forever too. (I live in Eindhoven so I know all this for a fact - I usually cycle to Hasselt as it's almost as quick). If you have the means to hire a car, then it is only an hour to drive.
A lot of people choose to come through Amsterdam, despite it not being that close, simply because of the range of cheap flights available and all the various regional UK airports you can set out from...

Absolutely. Wouldn't miss it for anything (well, almost anything - I accept that Semprini has a pretty rock-solid excuse this time...
). Especially after last year.
Booked our hotel in Hasselt last September(ish).

Semprini... we will miss you in the forum this year... i think that i saw some people from this forum in Express By Holiday Inn hotel last year but no idea who is who... i know because efestivals international forum was one of the last page visited in the hotel's pc....
Unfortunately, i spend more time in the hotel last year than in the festival... so guests from abroad were seeing our faces during that that awful days...
I'm pretty sure that Foo Fighters, Kasabian and dEUS will play this year at PP... there are strong rumours that Daft Punk will be there as well... Black Keys and Placebo seem a solid option so sub-headline... The band i'm looking forward is Blur... would be great to see them...
