No Direction Home in "the next 2-3 weeks" too. Wonder why that might take longer when it's nearly three months before?

Could be some very interesting cross-over between Primavera and NDH: Other Lives, Wilco, Josh T Pearson, Oliver Tremor Control, Jeff Mangum (?!), Guided by Voices, Yo La Tengo, The Drums....

I'm probably wrong, but judging by the, supposedly, more intimate setting (i.e. less punters) and the lower ticket price, I'd be surprised if artists of Wilco's sort of size played NDH. Plus something, completely unfounded, tells me it doesn't sway towards the more "out there" artists of OTC, NMH, GBV, YLT and all the other acronym-ed bands.
It's probably just blind, selfish hope from me though, as I'm not going. Curses!

Yeah, I suspect Wilco and YLT might be too big, and can't see Jeff Mangum playing outdoors (I can hope though, right?). I'm not too familiar with the other bands, so don't know if they'd fit or not.

Well YLT played the second year of EOTR, back when it was still very small, and have demonstrated their affection for the EOTR organisers by flying to the UK for one show - headlining EOTR. I don't expect them to play NDH but I wouldn;t rule it out on principle.
With the financial squeeze on the music industry things are definitely getting harder for festival organisers but Fiona and Simon have always punched above their weight. If this festival slips into folky mediocrity I would be very surprised indeed.

Apparently the Dirty Three have a new album coming out in February....and they are playing Primavera, so hopefully that means they'll be coming to either No Direction Home or End of the Road. I certainly hope so anyway.

And so the first sweet twang of excitement hits!
Thursday will be EPIC! First this, then The Leisure Society and Loney Dear in the evening. Could be the best day EVER!

I forgot to mention, I was chatting to Ro Cemm at the Superchunk gig in London last week (he was there, taking photos) and whilst he couldn't give me any clues as to who we could expect (I don't think he actually knew) he did confirm that the festival will not be expanding any more. It's as big as it will get.

And No Direction Home will also be announcing soon:
"Our very first band announcement will be coming on the morning of Thurs 15th Dec and will include at least 12 bands including 1 headliner."
(I originally only noticed "Thursday" and thought it was this Thursday. Oh well. 12 bands soon is good news
).

End of road speculation?
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds as headliner, with British Sea Power, Dirty 3 and My Morning Jacket as festival exclusive?

Well, we know that they try for Nick Cave every year, along with Sufjan. Maybe they've finally got one of their men.
Certainly hope so, either would be a pretty perfect first announcement for me.
Although I heard a rumour that Joanna Newsome enjoyed herself so much that she's coming back to headline all three nights.

NDH speculation: Wilco to headline. Slow Down, Molasses to play [spoke to them post-EoTR, they said they loved it and hoped to be over here again in the spring, around the time of NDH].

Can't imagine MMJ wouldn't be headlining - although they could be headliners and a UK festival exclusive.

Andrew Bird is touring the US February through early May. So maybe he'll be in Europe later in the year?

I'm hoping for Bon Iver, Gillian Welch and PJ Harvey, so one of these would suit nicely.
I also fully expect Other Lives to return to a bigger stage this year.

Andrew Bird and Beirut have been announced for Field Day the week before NDH.
