Bored so I thought I try a 2012 Lock Up thread.

Sonic Boom 6, Against Me! & Skints all have new albums out next year and ain't played in awhile. Also reckon We Are the Ocean, Man Overboard  & Social Distortion could be in with a shout.

Skints are touring with YMA6, Mayday Parade and Kids in glass houses in march, could gain some popularity through that

against me! would be great, missed them last time. social distortion would be awesome, never seen em and ,as infrequent visitors to the uk,i doubt many have.

small brown bike and old firm casuals would be good for lower down the bill

also,.its a few years since we've seen our old pals, pennywise, reel big fish and lagwagon.

oh,and less than jake!

Would love Rancid (or Transplants for that matter) but Mike Davies has said before he's tried to get them and they are too expensive for the Lock Up's budget.

just thinking, if by any chance billy talent play r&l, could they do a 2nd set in the lock up? like frank turner & nofx have done in the last two years.

cause i know a few years back they headlined it - in 2009.

probably unlikely but hey

How busy does the lock up get these days? Last time I went in there was to see a bit of Cerebral Ballzy in '10 & there were about 50 people standing around watching the car crash that was happening on stage.

was fairly busy last year when i was in there, mind you i was in there a lot so yeah.

packed out for a few of the sets, always more than half full i would guesstimate.

Would R/L ever consider going two days dance and one day lock up? Although i'm guessing it wouldn't be very popular with the people in this thread, it may appeal to the younger crowd. Just a thought?

up to 2005 it was that, but since 2006 had been 2 days of the lockup.

probably would annoy a fair few as if there is more indie on the other stages it provides a heavier alternative ;)

Also the fact that Creamfields is the same weekend would make 2 days of big dance acts difficult to book. As well as the fact a lot of people buy tickets to R+L purely for the lock-up, and stray little from it.
