Any ideas where the strong rumour for Elbow came from. I can see them headlining easily this year, they are now big enough to headline a festival like latitude, and would be a real crowd pleaser for the Henham crowd. An ideal headliner. I thought they would just about guarantee a sell out again thi year.
Now waiting for kraftwerk to be confirmed as a second headliner! Not sure about the third.

I hate Ed Sheeran so I hope he isn't a headliner, definately unworthy : ) - just pretty popular at the moment.

Actually. the third headliner will be the Flaming Lips - I can really see that, they would be well suited to Latitude and would be an awesome addition!

Flaming Lips are looking unlikely...in Czech Republic on the 13th and Belgium on the 15th...so would involve dicking about from mainland Europe and back...not impossible but unlikely??

I think I may return to Latitude this year, not been since 2009 and I think I want a nice relaxed festival since I'm probably going to Download and Reading as well.
Elbow will be a great headliner, as would the Cure, not sure who the third could be though.

Elbow & Cure will be awesome - I hope this happens.
Does anyone know whether it is staying the same size or is it going to take the opportunity of no glasto and some bigger headliners to grow a bit? ( I hope it stays the same).

Melvin Benn has been quoted as saying that there will be no more increase in people this year.

Fantastic news that Elbow are virtually confirmed now.
Now just have to wait for the 3rd headliner!!!

3rd headliner? we don't even know the second yet, the best guess is The Cure but to have them and elbow would be massive and MB has stated he isn't going to try and expand the festival in terms of band size this year. Personally I think it will be elbow, someone who used to be massive and has died down ever so slightly and an act who have a large cult following.

Would not be surprised totally by Elbow, The Cure and Pixies.

well the pixies would be the band that have died down a bit and I would love to see them, I just cant see The Cure playing as well as those two although I am a fan

Surely The Cure are no longer a band at the height of there powers? This surely makes it possible for them to Headline.

I'd say Pixies are more of a cult band as they were never a huge act and The Cure are the ones that were big.

What's Bestival capacity, 40-50,000? And they were regarded as the main of the three headliners there.
