I'm wondering if they're not going to make more than one announcement next week - it's possible there's one Monday and one Friday

last year if you remember IOW announced headliners and acts every day for a week - Giddings has said he sees no point in not announcing acts once he has them booked. So it could mean IOW announce more than once next week - and by Friday we could know all the headliners - if it follows the same pattern as last year. First we had they would announce on the 25th, and now it's the 21st - but, and I'm speculating, what if they are both right?

Basically last year they had 1 announcement everyday for a week.

The 5 days they announced included all 4 headliners

Kasabian
Foo Fighters
Pulp
Kol

Plus they announced Tom Jones on 1 of the days too

Might be a coincidence but IOW have Monday and Friday announcements next week?

Graspop are announcing their second headliner on Monday
Hellfest are announcing their second headliner on Friday

They announced Black Sabbath today.

Could IOW be sharing these acts? [I dont mean Sabbath]

Efests have added Radiohead to SR on IOW/HRC page. They wouldn't without some strong info surely.

I think it'd be hard to find a band to play at both of them fests plus HRC. Obvs it's not defo Radiohead but saying UK dates in the coming weeks, last time that was said to do with a band, it was within days. As has been said HRC and IOW fit perfectly within their euro dates.

"BRYAN ADAMS official
UK fans: Check here first thing Sunday morning. We will be revealing a very special surprise performance - but you'll have to guess and you won't want to miss."

It looks like Bryan Adams for IOW or HRC.

same time as Hard Rock Calling's first headliner.

Does that suggest they could be sharing?

It won't be Radiohead - not this year.

Bryan Adams will be doing a "special surprise performance" on either X Factor or Strictly tonight - most likely X Factor.

I would imagine this means he is to be announced first thing tomorrow morning.

from the isle of wight forum

Quote

Anyway back to the Boss- its almost definitely gunna be him.

Reasons? Well in the E Street Nation for a few weeks its been heavily rumoured that him and the band will play Sunderland's Stadium of Light, Hyde Park and a venue south of Hyde Park- which means, really, the Rose Bowl, St Mary's Stadium or Isle of White festival. I live in Southampton with ties to both grounds and have heard nothing of any such pending announcement. Then I heard that Italian concert promoters have said that Bruce will be announcing his italian dates on monday, along with a world tour and new album. Then I went on the Hyde Park site and it says that 8am Monday morning they'll announce their first headliner and sure enough I come on here and Absolute Radio says they'll be releasing the first headline at 8am Monday. So I would be staggered if its not the Boss.

Snow patrol have headlined IOW, V and Oxegen and have just sold out nights at the O2  and around the countey so they are only getting bigger. I can't see then subbing anyone.

John Giddings has said the legend headliner slot that they have had in prev years will be back.  Are Radiohead into Legend yet??  If so maybe they fit.

Everyone seems to be linking The Killers with IOW so that's a possibility.

You have Elbow subbing which in my opinion won't happen, I think they will start headlining festivals now. They subbbed at Glasto and have been very very popular.

So saying all that my guess is:

The Killers
Mumford and Sons

Elbow
Florence and the Machine

Radiohead
Noel Gallagher

And that was mine!
