Isle Of Wight Festival festival organizer John Giddings has said that he is hoping to secure an 'American Trilogy' of headliners for the festival in 2012.

The festival has only confirmed one headliner so far, Bruce Springsteen, who will headline the festival's final night (June 24), but Giddings has now said that he is hoping to secure two other American headliners for the event's other nights.

Speaking to eFestivals, Giddings responded to a question about whether he was looking to book three American headliners by confirming he made offers to two other US acts as well as Springsteen. He also said that the festival's second stage 'The Big Top' would have "more dance and urban acts than ever before".

The organizer also said that he would love to book the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Aerosmith, but ruled them out of the running for this year's event.

Asked who he'd most like to book to headline Isle Of Wight Festival, he replied: "The Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Stone Roses, Pearl Jam, Aerosmith and Pink Floyd.
