Booking Noel would be such a bad move for the Roses. He'll completely own them. He is just TOO good to support them. It will almost be like an anti climax. I got Saturday tickets and even though I know that Brown can't sing live.....I have always loved the Roses and I was too young to see them live in their pomp. If they book Noel it will almost be like an Oasis gig.....I'm sure the Roses don't want that.

It's going to be full of Oasis fans throwing piss anyway, what does it matter if Noel Gallagher does support or not?

do people really throw piss?? iv been to hundreds of gigs in doors and out doors, and iv been hit with the odd U.F.O but i cant say for sure if any of them was actually piss.

i think it does happen, but no were near as much as people go on.

Does the pope really shit in woods, and other such questions pondered by Joe1990 in the next episode of Joe's obvious questions.

I saw the Arctic Monkeys on the Sat night at the O2 recently from a box above the crowd and every time a bit tune kicked in all you could see was pints of fluid flying across the crowd all night. Couldn't be sure what was in them but at those prices I certainly wouldn't have chucked my pint!

Come to think of it, it didn't happen when I watched the Arcade Fire from the same vantage point (which probably tells its own story!).

At about 6.30am on 6 music the bloke sitting in for Chris Hawkins said that Primal Scream were supporting the Stone Roses this summer. Any truth in that?

Not sure which 1 i'd want. going on the sunday, don't really want either. But I didn't in a way want Noel as I have tickets as didn't want him there, don't want him at R&L either but think V will have him anyway.

yea I know bud. makes sense really for him to play v i think, although still open, but i think R&L has that many options it'll go for this year than Noel won't end up there

The Wailers are one of the supports

Quoted from the R&L thread. Big fan if this is true.

If they did support Stone Roses it would be genius.

I'm going to see them in the Phoenix Park in Dublin, I reckon the support act will be better in Dublin because British bands aren't as big here as they are in the UK. Much like Oasis' last stadium tour, UK dates consisted of Kasabian and The Enemy, when Oasis played Slane on the same tour we got The Prodigy, Kasabian and Glasvegas.
Kasabian still haven't managed to sell out The O2 Arena in Dublin, and have yet to headline an Irish festival. I have a sneaky feeling Kasabian might open for The Stone Roses in Dublin.
Seeing as they're headlining TITP that weekend and Oxegen (which usually shares it's line-up with TITP) would have been on that weekend but it's cancelled, rumour is there will be concerts on all weekend in Phoenix Park due to Oxegen's cancellation. Snow Patrol & Florence are playing one (both playing TITP) The Stone Roses are playing another, I fancy Kasabian to join them.

Saying that, it could just as easily be the uber-dull professional support act Elbow, also playing TITP that weekend.

I'm hoping Phoenix Park date looks like this:
The Stone Roses
Kasabian
Two Door Cinema Club (There will definitely be an Irish band)
Happy Mondays
Miles Kane

I think Heaton Park will be:
The Stone Roses
Elbow
Happy Mondays
Inspiral Carpets
Miles Kane

Heaton Park*

And it's been said The Wailers are supporting, which would fit, and be a very good booking, as I'm very hopeful they won't go down the cliched indie rock route.

Do we think we'll get four support acts? I'll be pretty happy if so, and they're the sort of size of acts you're talking...

Miles Kane to open then happy mondays followed by one of Noel, Beady Eye, Primal Scream or Elbow would be brilliant.

wonder what the delay is, maybe 1 of the acts has his own shows on sale.

Got my tickets today in the post, nice and early for once

The Wailers confirmed for TITP, adding fuel to the rumour that they'll support The Stone Roses. Poor booking in my opinion if it turns out to be true...
