Would Lynyrd Skynyrd be big enough to headline 2nd stage? They're touring and were in quite of lot of earlier predictions

Scorpions were most definitely not miming when I saw them in nov. really good show. I'd be happy with slayer or Motörhead. It is the scorpions though. Trust me, I just looked at some tea leaves.

Isn't the Saturday Metallica, Biffy, The D, UNANNOUNCED and then Trivium? If so couldn't Slayer go in the unannounced slot?

Yes, I think so. They'd fit quite nicely there. That's IF they are playing at all.

Mustaine's voice went during Holy Wars which frankly at the point was something of a relief!
I love Megadeth but I've seen them 4 times now and they've been poor at best every time where as Slayer has kicked ass.

High Voltage isn't happening this year - i wonder if that gives more scope for acts at Sonisphere and Download.

Ive seen Megadeth many many times (the first being in 1986) and without doubt the best I have ever seen them was supporting Judas Priest about 3 years ago. They blow hot and cold, Mustaine is so temperamental. They were fucking garbage at DL 2 years ago. My mate said they were the best of the big 3 pre metallica at soni.

Fair enough but I just think his voice has deteriorated so much it ruins it a bit. Granted he was never the best singer in the world.
I will grant you that they were better than they were at Download in 2007 and 2010.
The atmosphere for Slayer just went up a notch at Sonisphere so we kinda forgot about MegaStaine!

This thread has been ressurrected.
Updated 1st post.
Still left some bands who probably won't play, but can't 100% rule them out, any rumours, let me know I'll update

I think Marilyn Manson should be down as a rumour - in Europe the week of Download. However the only slot where he could really play is the 2nd stage below Slash. I don't know if this makes any difference but he is on the same label as The Prodigy now.
I see you've taken Evanescence off. This is probably right as there is no slot left for them to play anymore

It will be interesting to see where he puts Little Angels? although they were not as big or high profile as the darkness i thought they would play main stage at least.

I'm a bit of a Manson fan, but his last appearance at Download was an absolute disaster. If I was an organiser I wouldn't touch him with a bargepole.

If they haven't been confirmed as main stage already then it's very unlikely imo. I think they'll be 2nd stage.

It is Sunday, I dunno where efests has got their info from on the unassigned acts, they've just been lumped anywhere.
Only acts given days are Little Angels, Anthrax and Ugly Kid Joe

I thought it would've still been Sunday, it's just I don't see where they fit if they were to be mainstage
