Hi guys and girls!
My name is Damien and I am a student designer. I have set myself a design brief to come up with a product which will make carrying equipment to and from festivals.
We all know how bad it can be trying to haul all your gear (and beer) to your campsite, and it can put a big downer on your weekend.
What do you think of a festival luggage carrier, which makes carrying equipment over muddy ground easy?
Any thoughts and opinions would be HUGELY helpful.
Thanks,
Damien

I haven't decided on a design yet. but it will be some sort of cart as such. A trolley wouldn't be suitable as it would be rubbish off road.

errr, lightweight, big wheels, folding, balanced for beer and a tent, handle not for someone 5'2", self propelling - and costs less than 20 quid?

This is perfect I think, just a tad expensive, thinking about getting one for Bestival & split the cost between 6 of us.

Holds 250kg, Pneumatic Rubber Tyres, Sides that drop down, Long handle
It's a beast, only thing again is storing it somewhere it won't get nicked.

Getting that green beast in a small hatchback car or on a train would be a right pain in the dick.
Sack trolleys have already been invented... ideal.

I have one of these which has done Glasto, T in the Park and Bestival last year. I have a small hatchback and I drop the seats in it and it fits in fine with 3 other peoples kit in it. Was a life saver at Glasto last year was used by all my mates and other campers around my area to get stuff from their cars. One tip the pins that hold the sides on fall out over rough ground you need to tape them on otherwise your trolley will fall to bits.

I have one of the trolleys above, used it for the past 4 years, total life saver, just load it up and get to your camping ground all in one go.

having all 4 wheels on the ground means all you're doing is pulling, as opposed to pulling and lifting at the same time
True. I think you'd get more kit onto a carp trolley though. Anglers seem to be able to get loads of kit onto them. Also, over uneven ground wouldn't it be easier and less drag to have 2 wheels instead of 4 even if you are having to lift?

Yoghurt on a Stick, on 20 February 2012 - 06:20 PM, said:I have a 4 wheeler trolley and swear by it. The load is evenly split over the four wheels. There is nose chance of getting stuck in a rut suddenly with 2. I would honestly say it would be worth anyone getting a roof rack just to put the trolley on. Used it with my big ex army tent and that weighs in at over 300 lb.

A 300 lb tent! Wow, that must take some lugging about. I'll bow to your greater experience on this and say get a 4 wheel trolley!
