I'm 20, does that mean I'm still allowed to go or do I have to be old and bitter as well? (Turns out 16 year olds are allowed to like music too, who knew?)

Sam_Malone, on 01 September 2011 - 09:07 AM, said:Its truly rediculous, that trek, esp when you forget every year that the green route is miles better and take the red on the Saturday. The walk to get in from Richmond Avenue to the actual arena and the asshole security on the last day, literally trying to pull our bands off, all because we asked if there was a quikcer way into the arena, he thought we were "at it"
Its one of the main reasons I'm thinking of not going next year (after 15 years on the bounce), it used to take about 20 minutes to walk in from town, its now over 40, for seemingly no real need whatsoever.

Didn't go this year and not sure if I'll be going next year. Think i'll just be going to a few smaller festivals. It will need to be a good line up for me to buy a ticket again.

I won't be going back to Reading again unless the music is more to my taste, and I'm into all ages and types of music. But this year really felt like it catered mainly for the under 20's. All very good but it's not my thing. Too much wandering around trying to find something with a good sound and atmosphere, in fact it was the first festival in 25 years I found myself a bit bored at to be honest.
Spot on mate, I'm 34 and been going since '95. This year, for the first time, it kinda felt something was missing. Can't put my finger on it, weather,line-up.... I don't know. think it's unfair to blame it on kids though as i actually think there was less knobheads and and a larger proportion of older people and a massive increase in the amount of people bringing there young children. I actually saw a woman with three kids pushing a fourth in a pram trying to avoid the mud taking a shortcut through the FR tent while I was waiting for Dry The River!
I'm undecided on what to do next year as a result. Might invest in Tangerine fields to cut out all that hassle or might just go elsewhere if there's a quality line-up. Quite fancying Sonisphere.

don't think im going to go next year, creamfields looks like the place for me next year, i feel like a change in genre. i've seen pretty much all the bands i've wanted to see now. Plus the headliners which are predicted for next year(yes i know theyre only predictions) really do not interest me and i very much doubt there will be any bands on there which will really want me to get a ticket

I'm 36, and absolutely loved this year, made be feel a little better seeing older people around as well. Got my tickets for next year plus taking a festival virgin who is 38.

If the line up is as good as it's meant to be then probably, also next year I should be driving so I can leave on the sunday night thankfully. Will also check out either Download or Soni, then maybe a green festival..

I went this year for the 13th time in a row - had a great time and didn't feel that old (im 30) - depends if it bothers you that much that there are loads of young people.
I'll probably go again, although I do agree with some of the comments about getting in and out of the site, why they won't re-open that richfield avenue bit that used to be the main entrance is bizzare....takes ages (esp when you are camped in orange!) - to get through the site and out then up to town.
Did feel old though when some kid came and sat round our fire thursday night....he drinking, smoking and gurning on pills - when were you born mate? "may 1995" was the answer!

Depends on the line-up. But I'll be back at some point. This year was my 6th at Leeds. The fest has always been my favourite - it has the right mix of music for me, and edges out Glasto due to their being relatively less walking involved.

First went to Leeds 2005 and said that 2010 was the last year I was going because it was just too much hassle putting up with all the t*ats.
Ended up getting last minute tickets for £100 each and went down Thursday after work, camped in Brown and enjoyed it much more than 2010. Everyone up in Brown was really friendly and it was only an extra 10 minutes walk to the arena compared to orange/red.
Might even end up back next year if line up is great, if it isn't then hopefully it won't sell out again and I can get a last minute cheap ticket again, win/win situation

After buying a full price ticket this year, I think I will do the same as a lot of people and get one on ebay nearer to the festival

there were definately more older people there this year which makes 42 year olds like me feel a bit better.i always feel a bit guilty complaining about 16 and 17 year olds at the festival as i was that age when i first went to donnington(i thought i was well cool going to donnington at that age but was unaware that the older people were prob slagging me and my mates off for being too young)

I can see everyone who's planning to buy tixs off Ebay next year backfiring badly, it was only this year that they were going cheap and next year could be completely different and they may end up having to pay over the odds to get tixs.

I keep telling myself that it all depends on the lineup but I know for a fact I'll buy a ticket in the VIP presale.. again! I can't help myself!
