Can I bring a camping/folding chair/stool into Arena?
I won't be using it near stage,of course,I'm thinking about sitting on it at back between bands playing.

Yes you can.

I have a Micro folding Chair
http://www.gooutdoor...r-blue--p152290
that takes up no space and is very handy for damp ground.
For years at Reading you would not see many chairs but more and more are in use - as long as you are sensible then it should not be a problem.

Good for hiding cans inside of the bag when you're going into the arena too

I honestly thought these were banned. I hope to God Reading doesn't turn into Glasto or IOW with groups of chairs in front of the main stage.

Isle of Wight festival bans folding chairs

and if FR was intending to bring it in I would expect to find it here

I have to hold my hand up here - I don't enter via the normal entry point so Security are not checking what I am carrying but I cant imagine that the only seats are being used by Crew.

I've always seen groups of people with chairs at Reading, but they are usually pretty far back. Nothing like at V or Glasto!

Sit on the floor?

one thing that's nice at reading is there are barely any chairs around, and if there are they're pretty far back
i usually bring chairs for the campsite because it sucks sitting on the floor for 5 days if it's wet, hide them if you're in the arena though or they will be gone when you get back

Off topic, but i just have a quick question for you - where abouts is the crew entry point? (I am volunteering and will have a crew pass.)

The WBC has a shuttle minibus and that will drop crew off at the correct gate.
If you know Reading the shot is looking towards Richfield Avenue with the train line on the right and the arena on the left.
In previous years this was called Charlie Gate { the one on the left }
The minibus will stop there to drop people off and to pick them up hence why WBC Crew only enter/exit via that gate.
http://www.wbc-team....ge-2009-42.html
As its a long walk back to the WBC Village { WBC Campsite } even if there is no minibus there its quicker to wait for the next one.
So are you with the WBC and if so which Team ?

Hhmm OK, well I don't think I'll have access to this area - it's campsite volunteering with Hotbox. We're the CATs.
But I do know we get a crew wristband, and I have read/heard that we can use a different entrance to the arena. I don't think minibuses will be for us though!

Yes I know where CAT's usually camp so in that case I expect you will be able to enter from several points - either via the normal entry point as there is a Crew entry lane and with a crew pass you can get in at anytime or around the production road and enter via Charlie Gate which is handy when its busy.There is a gate on the far side { stage right as you stand on the stage } but as its opposite Charlie Gate I have never tried that one.
You should be close to Orange Catering which is where most crews eat.{ close to Yellow camping }
The WBC Camp is a few miles away and is not on the main site hence why they run minibuses.

People using chairs in the arena at Reading seem (surprisingly) to have more common sense where they sit than some selfish buggers at Glasto. It's quite enjoyable watching one of the headliners (as I did for Metallica, casual fan) near the back & having a camp chair to take it all in from as the sets are quite long & you may not know all the tunes.Good for hiding cans inside of the bag when you're going into the arena too

What would you do if Area's ground is soggy to sit on?You can't stay standing up all day long?

Its claimed that the site is less prone to flooding - well time will tell on that one.
I am just glad my campsite is less prone to flooding.
