Got a two ring camping stove thing I'd like to bring. It used a 5kg calor gas bottle - not the big huge massive ones but the smaller cut down version.

Anyone know if these are allowed? On the web site it says small gas camping stove. Depends how they define small - LOL.

If they see you going in with it, they will take it off you. But if you can get in without being searched, then you'll be fine.

So basically, no they arent allowed =]

Agreed............I got stopped last year with a similar bottle, I then walked back in with a sleeping bag under my arm with the bottle in the middle and got through!

So even though it doesn't state anywhere that we can't take them, they'll take it off us if they see them?? :/

Thanks for the heads up :)

That's complete bollox. Nowhere on the website does it say you cant take them in. FFS !!!!

Its a camping stove/cooker which is what it says is allowed.

I would advise you try it.............they only take them off you if you are adamant of carrying on into the site, you can offer to return it to your car which they are happy for you to do.

Try to smuggle it in inside a sleeping bag then if they say no say you are returning it to the car and try again a different way until successful.

I did and it worked, i think its only obvious offensive / illegal items they remove from you.

Well I think common sense would tell you what a small gas stove is? The 'small' one burners that are used at festivals across the whole world   Personally I think your mad for even considering taking a two burner and a gas bottle, thats way too much extra weight to carry from the car parks!!

When we were in the campervan area a few years ago everyone had the big 10kg one's. I think its just more of an issue in the campsites because of the tents being piled on top of each other. Personally I wouldn't risk it, I saw so many people having things confiscated from the campsite last year. Seems like a bit too much hassle to me!
