So... Clash finder lists special guests on the lock up stage on the Sunday

Not sure if there's much history of decent/any special guests at R & L? With Glastonbury getting big name acts with a history at the fest for smaller scale guests slots over the last couple of years wondering if R & L might try and do the same? Bloc party?

Frank Turner

No there's not. It's not special guests, it'll be a double slot as it always is. Someone playing somewhere else doing another gig. It's Glasto's thing to do the special guests, other than TCV, it doesn't really happen at Reading.
Last year was NOFX, year before was Alexisonfire.
Pretty certain it'll be Frank Turner.

Theres been a special guest of some sort for the last few years, some have been more secret than others though:
2007: Kaiser Chiefs
2008: Pigeon Detectives
2009: them Crooked Vultures
2010: Gallows
This year its very likely be Frank Turner, bit pointless as a special guest as most would predict him playing the double slot anyway. Maybe he wanted to play and they thought he's too big for the slot.

Not sure you'd count Gallows, due to them being lock-up, and having used The Rats before etc. etc.
Pigeon's were on a Thursday and on the line-up.
I'll give you Kaiser's though.

Pigeons were not on the line up when they played the Thursday. It was announced by Efests on the Wednesday evening that they was playing a secret set, the stage did not even admit they was playing until half an hour before they came on.

If it is Frank Turner, will he be playing the secret set at both Leeds and Reading or just Reading?

It's not really a secret set, it's on the official poster, and it's on there for both sites. If you mean will the special guest be the same for both sites, the answer's yes.

There was also Nofx and their 2nd set on Lock Up, Biffy Clyro on BBC Intro and the Foos were meant to but apparently pulled out last min as one of them was ill.

I reckon there will be a special guest on the R1 Tent at Leeds on sunday to replace Odd Future, either that or there will be longer times, and someone like Friendly Fires may do an acoustic set on the BBC I Stage
