OK, for the last 2 years Camp Strudders (at least) was...

Quote

hope you understand the destructions peeps..
Posted Image

camping area on map...check.

yellow arrow in top right corner of camping zone/exit from Main arena...tick.

perimeter fence doglegging below the arrow around tree...???

tented marked zone in the space directly below this fencey area...

if you get to the next big tree below this area which would be on your left if coming into the field yourself...you have walked too far.

That was where we were last year (ED:-2009). Hoping to be back this year. (ED:-2010, we were indeed there, and hoping to be back there in 2011)

There is a walkway alongside this chosen camping area that leads from the camping entrance up to the Tiny Tea Tent at the top of the hill (teapot symbol on map).

Hope this makes sense. There will be a gang of lovelies heading there cos they camped there last year.

See you next week :D

NEW FOR 2011! PARKING & WRISTBANDS: The entry will be slightly different this year in that those in cars will be parked in the car parks and then you will walk to one of two new Pedestrian Gates (whichever is closer to you, they will be clearly signed) where you will exchange your tickets for wristbands. You will then go through the Pedestrian Gates and into the campsites! If you are in a Campervan then you will exchange your tickets for wristbands as you enter the Campervan field as you may have done in previous years.

That's from the official site

Hmmmmm....

As long as the layout of the campsite in relation to the arena is the same we'll be ok I should imagine.

I'd imagine that the layout to the campsite beyond the arena is the same. If not, then we'll have to use mobiles to figure out where people are, and update this thread and Facebook once we've set up on Thursday.
#Social Media, if it's good enough for rioters, it's good enough for us :D

The top of that map is East so you have to turn it 90deg clockwise to line up with a proper map. The A30 is off the right hand page of that scan so I'd imagine the car park is off that side - if you look bottom right you can see 'Exit' and 'Red Route' marked.

Google maps
The google map is almost upside down, the red route and exit marked are for buses and disabled, normal camping is blue route which comes in at the top near family camping. To get to where is marked on the map you enter the main arena near the info point.

BD website FAQ, the camping section says "We will put a site map on the festival website in advance" http://www.beautiful...g/practical/faq

Have emailed BD asking if there is any chance they will be doing this, but have not received a reply yet. I'll keep everyone posted

Can't wait!

We'll have our usual flag & fairy lights, aiming to get there for gates opening if all goes to plan & we can resist taking the even longer way there!

Oops I'm a bit late seeing this thread, been away for a short time. We'll be arriving on Thursday and will attempt to navigate our way towards Camp Strudders. It's our first BD's so I think I'd best print out the map. Really looking forward to it! Hopefully see you there.

Rabid & I are going for the 1st time too, but will hopefully get there early & find where we think we're supposed to be. We'll get our flag up quickly & I'll be wearing my efest t shirt & Rabid will be wearing his avatar!

PM some of us if you want mobile numbers to help in finding us.

See you there!
