Maybe this is a stupid question but why does the countdown end at 2pm on Friday?

Is this always the case or is this the reason why there's less bands on the main stage than usual?

There are enough bands on other stages to start at the normal time and even if there is a band missing from the main stage it wouldn't be two hours lost.

I was thinking that might just be when the compere starts or somethin?

I wonder if there are people who aren't actually going but sit and home watching the countdown anyway...

I'm doing it right now. Sometimes I turn away and count in my head, and then trun back and see if the number in my head and the number on the screen match. It's great fun.
