Not sure if there's a post elsewhere about this..just wondered how long everyone's phone lasted

My old samsung didn't last long at all, had to make a trip to charge n chill tent and unfortunately it wasn't fully charged by the time the tent closed - and it died Sunday night :(

I saw loads of people using iphones/blackberrys on facebook - the girl in front of me at Gold Panda was (i think) updating her facebook status..how the hell do people manage to use facebook and twitter and call/text without their phones dying?! Do they just go to the charge tent everyday or something?! sod that

I'd like to have been able to  use twitter while there - I seem to recall the signs on the way to shangri-la saying to check twitter?

My iphone I use  when at home normally dies before the days out if I use facebook or any other app!

And  it's not like you can take a spare battery for an iphone..you have to take the sodding phone apart to replace the battery!

I was lucky on the last night..everyone I was with went to see Beyonce..I didn't really fancy it so headed to the dance village, thought I'd check my phone..oh great the battery's flashing it's gonna die! Luckily managed to fire off a text telling my mate to meet me outside dance east by that mini pyramid thing - still took about an hour to find him :)

Iphone with a spare battery, turned it off when I wasn't using it. I was able to go online and find out the park guests and meet up with mates. Just about made it through the festival...

I charged it once during the week. Had it off most of the time though.

I took two phones. A Nokia 5110, and my iPhone.

I kept the Nokia on all the time, for calls and meeting people - it lasted the whole time, with two bars of battery left!

The iPhone was only turned on to find out the special guest rumours, again, it lasted the whole time with about half an hours use a day.

Shall be doing the same thing again next time!

nokia n900 with 2 batteries and a solar charger, managed to scrape through til Monday afternoon on last bar of battery in the western world, phone was switched on 24/7 and never let me down, managed to get some nice pics with it as well.

My daughter's phone started looking ropey saturday afternoon, so she chucked it in at the greenfields for a couple of hours, right as rain.  My son got by on one battery all week and his died sunday morning.

First two days it died pretty quickly , which was a shame but took a trip to the green fields and left it at one of the solar places for a couple of hours. (Two quid it cost but for the benefit of no Que/ waiting around for a few hours for a fully charged phone!) Lasted me rest of the weeekend :)

Although I took an old Nokia in the end I just used my HTC Wildfire and charged it once on the Friday with a Ted Baker portable charger. Didn't use facebook or any other apps, and turned it off when not needed.  :)

had an old samsung with me that finally gave out on the way home on monday.  i'd *never* waste time at a festival in a queue for charging a phone!  i didn't need to use it this time round, but some of my friends take a big battery with them (looks like a car battery but much smaller) and that gets used for charging phones if necessary, amongst other stuff.

I was debating whether to take my iPhone or not but I did and it lasted the whole festival without having to be recharged. Admittedly I had it switched off the majority of the time but still managed to meet up with friends, check the weather and Facebook, find out who the special guests were at The Park and download my emails every day. I was quite shocked. I did take one of those battery chargers with me as an emergency but didn't even need it!

I took an old Nokia with about 3 batteries. Unfortunately it got slightly damp on the way in, and it got frazzled the moment I switched it on! Was not amused, but it didn't kill me not having a phone. I did take my Desire too but surprise surprise that lasted only the day lol Chill and Charge was a complete waste of time and even the 3/4 hour I was sat in there wasn't even enough to boot up the ruddy Desire.

In 2010 i found my phone dying all the time, staying in touch with people was a problem and going to the orange charge tents took time. So this year I did some research and bought a Nokia 1800 for £8 and £10 free credit from carphone warehouse!

I kept the phone on all the time and used my sony for music in the tent with 3 batteries. My nokia still had 2-3 bars of battery left when i got home with no extra charge, brilliant, very basic phone but lasts forever which is what you want and not too worried if you break/lose it.

I thought you have to take the iphone apart to change the battery?!

I took my Blackberry 8900 with 2 fully charged batteries, and a backup Sony W810i, also fully charged.  Didn't need the Sony, phoned died while waiting for the train at Castle Cary on the Monday.

I've now upgraded to a Samsung Galaxy II but will be using the Blackberry/Sony combination again for festivals for sure.  Though I can change batteries on the Samsung it's too new to risk damaging at a festival.

why on earth anyone would want to spend time at festival arsing about with twitter and what not is beyond me...I would happily leave my phone at home
