Thought it might be one of those things- the stone circle's just a sea of used cartridges come the morning lol
so if you got searched and they found it does it get taken off you or what? as it's legal to buy so nothing wrong..yet

Just read a little on it and one place says;
In the UK then the possession and use of Nitrous Oxide is entirely legal. Sale of Nitrous Oxide for use as a propellant in whipped cream is perfectly legitimate if however it is sold to be inhaled then it is classed as a medicine and not as a food. Then it is covered by laws regarding the controlled sale of medicines.
I think if you got searched at a festival (or most other places) the chances of you being a chef on your way to fill some chocolate eclairs are pretty slim. I reckon they'd take the stuff off you if they were of that frame of mind.

As above, if you were caught going in with it they'd take it off you.

Basically, it's legal in small amount, but illegal for recreational purposes and sale without a license. So When people bring it into a festival it's obviously for recreational use and therefore technically illegal. It's meant to be used in hospitals in big canisters or to whip cream in small canisters.
So unless you're catering then taking it in is probably gonna be illegal.
The main reason it pisses me off though is the number of small metal canister left after the festival must huge, if only they were recycled

You would have thought people would have the decency not to discard them on the floor at the very least.

Those metal things go to land fill. Know this because we didn't know what to do with them at the recycling centre in 2008.
A waste of scrap metal, maybe have spare bin at the recycling centre just for these things, and sell them fror scrap after the fest, creating more funds for whatever.

Security took a box of them off this bloke as he strolled in with them whilst I was working the gates this year. Others outside were trying to get loads in by chucking bags of them over the fence into the top of King's Meadow as well. Noisy habit.

I did litter picking this year and last and they were able to recycle them- so whilst it doesn't excuse the idiots that leave them lying around at least ain't going to landfill
