I don't know why, but I was thinking to myself the other day that after all of Jackone's pre-fest forecasts summing up the weather with his mudbath scale, I wondered where 2011 ended up on a scale of 1-10?

Obviously I was there & I know it was muddy, but just so I have a benchmark for 2013 & know exactly what to expect! :)

... not that it's going to r*in in 2013 of course.

I think this was his final post.
It was already muddy so no rating.

If 2007 was rated 10 I would rate this year as 8.

Cool - that's exactly the kind of answer I was looking for!  It was my first muddy one this year so hadn't got much to compare it to!

I'd say a 7 really surely? Maybe even a 6 prehaps.

It's really hard to judge this year because it was so varied, and because it ended well so you remember it better than it was. You don't remember so much how bad it was on Wednesday lunchtime when trying to get your stuff on site, or Friday/Saturday with Friday's persistent rain leaving it's mark for 24 hours or so.  It was patchy as well - I was dancing barefoot in front of the stages on Saturday, but helping people who had lost their boots stuck in the mud walking between stages!

I'd probably also give it a 7. I don't really think it was more than a 6 overall, but for the hell of dragging that trolley through the mud on Wednesday, and being made to feel like I couldn't do Glastonbury camping any more, it gets an extra mark.

I was thinking about this the other day and I'd definitely go for 7. Horrible, sticky mud and nowhere to sit. Rescued from being an 8 by the sheer joy of being able to wear trainers again by sunday.

I think this year probably proved the flaws in a 'mudbath' rating system. In that it was very muddy (in places) but the weather was actually pretty good.

A fair analysis..but I'd give it an 8!

My mate's band arrived late Saturday night for their gig Sunday and found it impossible getting about, they were playing at the Dance area too and the mud there was f**king brutal

impossible to get through at points, f**king sticky and textured by the devil himself.

8 for me.

10 for 2007

It's a tough one to call between a 7 and an 8. Part of me says give it an 8, because this year I fell into the stuff for the first time. However the mud in 2007 depressed me whereas it only got on my tits this year. Therefore it's going to have to be a 7.

I think this is the point it depends where you spent most of your time on site, even camped as some some of them looked awful to be camped near but my area was pretty mud free, just needed long drops instead of turdis's. I think it was thursday night I tried going into shangri la, and just cba with that kind of mud when I got there!

I would give it an 8 too, the mud around the dance village was f**king hard work, I remember trying to get this hot dog or something and thinking f**k this.

Yeah shangri la etc on the Thursday night was definitely a 10. It was like an endurance test getting from one end to the other, although certainly encouraged the one way movement they were hoping for as I couldn't wait to get out of there & back on the railway track!

Deep sticky mud yet slippery at the same time - work of the devil indeed!

I'd also say 7 perhaps 8 in certain areas. It was a pain to get around at times especially at The Dance Village, Shangri La and The Park for the first few days but by Sunday the site was mostly fine. I've definately seen worse.

experienced '85,'97,'98 and this year. I'd give it a 6, maybe 6 1/2.
