Just had another quick look at the Ticket Trust website - I'm still yet to have seen a single ticket for sale for *any* of the events listed ...let alone EOTR.

Is it a good idea doomed to failure ? Is no one selling ? Do people not know about it ?

I check it every day and like you, not seen one ticket for sale. In fact, the text on the site is all over the place last couple of days and i'm wondering if there's a problem with it.

Waiting very patiently myself :(

I suppose people are just not selling at the moment so it will be very last minute which could be a disaster

Shame if it doesn't happen.

Just looked again on ebay - one legit looking ticket on there...already up to £185 !!

Dang I'm glad we sorted tickets early. Although I have a couple of friends looking out for some, I'm doubting they will get em now. Demand is crazy this year ....dont remember so many people asking for tickets last year.

They dont put tickets on sale until they actually have the physical tickets....seeing as customers are only receiving them today and then have to post them on to Ticket Trust....it cant possibly have any till next week.

Appreciate that for EOTR .... but odd that there are NO tickets for anything.

Ebay isn't such a good deal as it sounds, if you are selling. If you sell your ticket for around £200 approx £35 goes directly to Ebay/Paypal so it is not such a big profit as people imagine!

The Ticket Trust looks a bit of a faff to be honest.  For a start you have to do it through paypal, second you have to post the ticket trust your actual tickets, and finally you have to wait until after the event has finished to get paid.

I’m unfortunately going to have to sell my tickets (looks like we’ll be moving house on EoTR weekend), but would much rather just do a cash sale in a pub, or even a cheque in the post than fiddle around with sites like ticket trust.

If ticket trust want more takers I suspect they’ll have to pay for tickets on receipt (and accept the risk of failing to sell them on), and they’ll have to offer a range of payment methods.

I don’t think the failure of Ticket Trust to have a single ticket for any events is because everyone wants a profit (I hope not), I think it’s because it’s not easy enough.

It's sad to here the system isn't easy just encourages people to ebay them .We've been waiting and waiting for something to appear on the news page about tickets, rather than posting on the forums. I didn't even know that was the website they were going to be available from. I can appreciate people now not wanting to go through the hassle. At the same time i don't agree with touts on ebay etc so will only do the kind of  face value stuff deal that real nice people who love music want to do only ever had good experiences with that kind of deal.

We missed out this year as we were moving, still hoping to go, but sutpidly left it too late. Bizarrely if end of the road festival weren't so nice i bet we would have bought them months ago. We also go to Primavera Sound each year, they force you to buy early by putting the price up 10-20 euros every month or so it seems, don't want end of the road to go that way, it just sound like we may have to miss out this year and be more organised next year! :-)

Personally i think the best way to buy/sell tickets is on forums like this, it's always the best place to look i think as often people are selling to likeminded people and not looking for a profit. I think the festival could possibly have those that can't make it have their tickets sent back by a certain time and then maybe put those up for sale in these forums?

I'm sure if you can make it and you keep checking back here, tickets will become available.

Well ebay is the most straight forward way to sell. Plus you get buyers protection etc. I have no problem with people selling it on there as an auction, at least it gives everybody the same chance to get it, it's down to whoever wants it most, rather than who have the least to do so they can keep an eye on the forum all day.

Sure in the case of a fan selling them i can understand it is low risk and low hassle. But i will never do it for the same reason i will never buy tickets from touts outside gigs.It is difficult to tell who is a genuine fan and who is just profiteering. I'd rather miss out than line someones pockets who just buys up tickets to sell on. I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope some nice people on here/ friends of friends come through with a couple of tickets. We've certianly learnt our lesson for next year :-)

OH er um Ebay is not always easy or safe. I do have a friend who bought tickets and paid, then the seller just vanished. IT IS NOT ALWAYS SAFE. You have little protection in actual fact. Anyone can post something to "sell" on there and then take your money and run. As a seller it can sometimes be a pain in the neck, buyers change their minds, don't pay,the post lets you down, blah blah.

I have no problem with it as a selling tool, I am a frequent user, but it is not cheap to sell or risk free.

It's always safe in a buyer's pov. As long as you paid via paypal, you are completely covered. If ticket not turned etc, you get your money back from paypal. The seller can't just run with your money.

Believe me I use Ebay a lot! You are not safe as a buyer even if you use paypal. You are only safe if the person has a paypal account still open when you make a claim! Then you have to go thru a process and if it is in your favour paypal refund your money provided that person is still around and doesn't close their account!!!! Honestly they can just run off with your money. It doesn't happen very often though

See I disagree. I have no problem with ebay for a lot of things and I use it a fair amount (and I agree with Sue that ebay and paypal aren't that safe at all from a buyers point of view), but I won't get into a bidding war with anyone over a ticket. It's face value or nothing for me I'm afraid.

I often have spare tickets for gigs and I usually sell them to friends or through last.fm and I have never sold a ticket for anything over face value and in doing so I've made some great friends in the process. I've also never been let down or had someone not pay. I've even given tickets away for free before if I've suddenly not been able to go rather than see them go to waste. Sell on ebay by all means, but sell as a 'buy it now' for the face value. Anything else is wrong and no better than a tout and prevents genuine fans from seeing gigs they would miss out on otherwise.

I would worry about selling tickets on ebay for face value for sold out events - I wouldn't want to inadvertantly sell to a tout, and for them to whack it straight back on for a profit.  That's why selling via forums is good - you can tell (I think) who's genuine.
