Now too old and too unfit to haul all of our stuff from the car to the camping fields and vice versa.  Can't put my fella through that ever again but don't want to miss Glasto.  We would like to try camping at Ashcombe Farm from the Tuesday and spend the duration of the festival there - walking from the campsite to the festival site each day and back at night.  Has anyone done this and, if so, what price was the campsite?  Details for their site for this year said to phone or email for prices which suggest to me that, perhaps they hike their prices right up during the festival.  Also, how far in advance do you have to reserve a pitch?  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

Not sure if this is helpful or not. It's the 2010 prices but one just mentions over £24. This could mean anything.

I suspect the price goes up significantly for Glasto weekend. Might be an idea contacting them direct and seeing if you can 'lock' a deal in for 2013. At least you wouldn't have to pay for a car park pass!

Price was £8pppn in 2010 and £9pppn in 2011 so I would guess it will be £10pppn in 2013.

Hope that helps!

WOW my first post since the fest...there are reasons
Ashcombe is a lovely campsite and many efesters camp there on the runup to the fest.
We tend to camp there on the Tuesday and also Sunday night.
Left the motor there for the week this year as well..
But I must say I gave Carole bottles of vino as compensation  ;)
It.s a great place.. We will be back there again.. :D

Madyokel or anyone

Do you know how long it would take to walk from the farm to the nearest gate at the festival? Not sure I would use the place during the festival but am kind of curious to know.

Thanks

Thanks very much for the info Madyokel. It sounds very tempting.
