COME ON GUYS!, Surely there were positive things we can take from the festival. I for one are not going to focus on the negative, again i had a wonderful time made even more special by the fact that i saw some awesome gigs in whatever weather which for me covered what the whole Glastonbury experience is about. I never saw any trouble or anything that would cause offense to me, just like minded people having a wonderful time with their five days of self expression that we all only are able to truly fully achieve in the only week in one month per year that Glasto takes place. Ok call me a romantic old fool but thats just me, i will look forward and back with great fondness of my experiences ( see below )to next and to this one just gone.
Thursday..... wondering through the site, sitting down on the Green fields and the Park taking it all in ( i do this every year)
Friday : Stonefield, wonderful young girl group from Australia
Wombats .... Great gig at the other, had everyone jumping in the rain
Radiohead in the Park.... yes i made it and because i was there early i managed to get central stage about 20 rows back..... as a Radiohead fan this was a true moment of me
Saturday: Yuck ... Great gig in an early time slot in the John Peel, i love the John Entwisle type attitude by the girl on base with the Ramones hair cut, she did make my smile
Anna Calvi... great gig and boy can this girl play the guitar, she is going to be a real star but i hope she stays underground.
The Kills... Yes Allison i still Love you, some great bluesy rock that with the sun beating down really started off the late afternoon with a bang.
Elbow.... Another defining moment for me, i am a huge fan and this was a beautiful gig, Guy Garvey you are a truly lovely man and the boys deserve a headline slot in 2013.
Coldplay.... A truly giant gig and this really now puts them right up there. Outstanding!
Sunday: The Joy Formidable: In Ritzy Bryan they have one of the best front people around, for a three piece they have an amazing sound, and she truly is a nutter, a great gig that should have been filmed to be shown to a wider audience, they are going to get a bigger slot next time.
Laura Marling: Just beautiful! Here music and herself, i lost myself in the sun with cider in hand....just dreamy.
Kool and the Gang: Boy this brought back some memories! My mate Pete and myself got ourselves somewhere near the front and truly relived our old soul boy days! Ooh la la la lets go dancing, oh la la la reagee dancing!
I saw other gigs like, Vaccines, U2,Big Audio Dynamite,Plan B, Everything Everything. But the ones i have commented on were the best.
I missed , The Horrors, Friendly Fires and I am Kloot because of the mud traffic, but hay ho thats live and i had a wonderful time, so come on be happy!
