So who got to see Jimmy then?

I loved the way that the crowd completely embraced 'I can see clearly now ...', and sung it as tho the rain had stopped even tho it was pissing down. Loved it. :)

PS: Rastamouse was the best reggae act on site. :P

Loved Jimmy, although I left early to catch some of KT in avalon.  He really gets the crowd going!  His pyramid slot in '03 in the blazing sun was just perfection

I totally agree with you Neil.

I too had an awesome Reggae Glasto that included singing 'I Can See Clearly...' while dancing in Mizzle™ that was followed by my Glasto highlight of witnessing Rastamouse on Saturday.

Singing that in that rain just put an even bigger smile on my face  B)

Aye - was great, but am I right in thinking that he didn't play The Harder They Come.

Admittedly, I was fairly refreshed but I don't think he did...

Speaking of Reggae, how as Scratch?  I got fed up waiting for him to show, so bailed to see the end of Big Boi.

he did - he opened with it. Only a legend could open with his biggest song and get away with it. :)

I'm a huge Jimmy fan of 20+ years, but I've got to say that of all the times I've seen him this time had the most unfamiliar set I've yet heard him give - but it was still superb.

I did similar so I don't know .... tho I walked on past Big Boi, who I noticed didn't have a huge crowd.

Man - I must have been melted.  I was sure he'd started with You Can Get It If You Really Want.

It was indeed a fairly poor showing - but I was in a sampling sort of mode so lingered for a while before seeing some of Flogging Molly and a lot of male full-frontal nudity in the Cabaret Tent.

Jimmy was amazing, the voice seems stronger and more polished than ever...

But, Lee Perry blew everything else away completely. It was like Jah himself had come down to earth with his angels in his Sunday best party robes to bless us poor unworthy souls with the music of the heavens. First time I've made the effort to be right on the rail, stage front for anything in years too. Breathles and in joyful shock sums up how I felt at the end, and very, very happy indeed.

Legend and Genius are so overused it seems in the music business, But Jimmy Cliff and Scratch rightfully qualify as both.

We loved Jimmy in a half respectful/half hilarious kind of way. His Afghanirtan song was in the great reggae tradition of serious lyrics with a ridiculously happy tune ... and then as the rain pissed down he did a magnificent 3 in a row of many rivers n cross, rivers of babylon, and, i can see clearly now the rain has gone! While singing along i was crying with laughter!

I think the reason he didnt do The harder thex come (among a few other classics) was that he tried to con a longer encore by getting the crowd singimg 'one more'!  We were imagining the conversation ....
EE - 'Dad - Jimmys trying ht on with the set stretching routine again'
ME- ' Dont put up with it Em - pull the plug out or youll never get rid of him!'

Jimmy Cliff was amazing and his energy even more so !!

We was stood at the side up on the path and everyone was dancing and singing. That was one of my highlights of the weekend.

Totally awesome, we had been standing there soggy with our kids, and he was a ray of sunshine and happiness! My kids were taught i can see clearly by their music teacher too, so they were over the moon to hear it from his masters voice! chase and status as well...then we rounded off the night with primal scream...one of my best ever days in years of glastos :)

Jimmy Cliff totally ruled.  One of the highlights of the weekend, easily.
