How good were Elbow

Never seen them live before but OMG how good were they. Set of the weekend for me.They put on a fantastic crowd pleasing show.

Perfect band for that slot. It's the 4th time i've seen them and my only downside is that it was quite a short set (got to expect that at a festival though I guess).

I really enjoyed it, one of my highlights from the weekend.

Still can't quite come to terms with missing pulp though... Wasn't an easy choice for me to make as I still wasn't 100% sure the walk to the Park would pay off

Just watched the Elbow set back on tv and was as good as I remembered. Pyramid stage with the sun setting is a beautiful experience made all the better by Guy Garvey, who seemed to be having the time of his life. The reverse Mexican wave was my favourite bit

I saw them on the Asleep in the Back tour and they were good; though even then the venues were too big for their style. I thought they were dire on Saturday - and what the f@ck was with the hand waving? Interesting comparing them with Morrissey - never liked his music, but he at least acts like a rock god.

yup, Elbow would be much better live if they adopted a bit more introverted shoe gazing and cut out all of the crowd interaction.

Best set of the weekend, my mate and I had seen them before but they were a million times better and we cried bucketloads, another friend hadn't listened to them before and he said it was the best gig he'd ever been to, I think the crowd interaction helped that.

Beautiful songs, nicest bloke in Guy Garvey, on the Pyramid Stage, the occasion of it, the weather and being with mates, it blew everything else out of the water and I've never cried at music that much in my life, Wierd Fishes made me cry on Friday at the Park with Radiohead, but was crying for the majority of Elbow's set.

Oh by the way, if the northern man is on here who spoke to a group of us 7 on the right hand side from Bury, very very nice bloke and it was a pleasure meeting you, sorry for being such soppy gits!

It was my favorite performance I've seen from any band. Everything was perfect. Loved seeing a band who've grafted their nuts off for 20 years get the recognition they deserve and love it as much as I would. Special performance from a special band.

I cant see how anyone would have failed to be impressed by them on Saturday unless they already had their minds made up about them. Stunning set and the sun setting for Lippy Kids was a lovely moment. 'One Day Like This' was still being sung in the urinals about 10 minutes after they went off!

I haven't seen them since they started playing enormodomes and I loved every moment. Glitterball in particular was very special.

I've seen Elbow a million times so I went to see Pulp instead, still annoyed they clashed however, would've loved to have seen Elbow that high on the Pyramid. Has to be said though, having looked at the setlist, shame they neglected their first three albums.

Biblically good, the best performance of this and many other Glastonburys.

They make the most beautiful music that is haunting, life-affirming, introspective and joyful and that all in a tiny little set.

Their love, authenticity and all-round brilliance made Coldplay and their ridiculous lyrics look like the slick, stylized stadium-filling nothingness that they are.
