Stop often to break up the monotony.

Get on the car-sharing website and find a travel buddy who will engage you in conversation each way and scream like F*CK if you do nod off.

As others have said, take it easy on the way home, don't drink too much the night before, if you feel too tired then pull over and have a snooze. Basically, don't take chances, just like you wouldn't on any other long car journey.

Threads like this kind of make me glad I'm taking the train. Do the police do spot checks on drivers leaving/near the site?

Yeh please listen to all this advice not worth the risk!

I had a mate involved in crash because the person driving fell asleep, broken pelvis, jaw, leg, flew out of the sunroof into a tree!

Not the way you wanna finish an amazin weekend!
