Hi,

Arriving at 10.30pm Wednesday night to Bristol airport and picking up a rental car.  I'll have bought spirits in Duty Free but we want to get some Beer.  Looking at the map the airport is quite a bit outside Bristol and in the direction I want to be headed.   Where can I get beer at that hour and will I have to head back towards Bristol to get it.   Any help would be much appreciated.  Nearly there folks - super excited!!!

Best bet would be to head for the 24hr Tesco.  Not sure if you know or not, but the festival don't allow any glass on site so buy cans, and a couple of bottles of water for you to decant your spirits in to.

Edit - I know Bristol wasn't the answer you were looking for, just can't think of anywhere else around midnight-ish (by the time you get luggage / car etc.)

There are plenty of 24hr supermarkets to choose from if you head to Bristol, don't think any of the ones more on the route between the airport and the site are 24hours. I know that Wells Tesco, for instance, which shuts at 12am stops beer sales at 11pm after giving them a call about their morning opening hours.

There is a 24hr petrol station about 10 mins in the direction of Bristol which sells beer (though I don't know if it sells it 24hrs).  Couldn't tell you the exact location as it was a taxi that brought us there but it could save you going all the way into Bristol (though it'll probably be pricier than Tesco).  Maybe someone in the area would know the place I'm thinking of.

Just rang this Tesco (Brislington Extra) and they sell alcohol until 12am in case anyone was wondering.

Thanks for the help people!!

Not sure to be honest - don't recollect seeing people with slabs of lager passing through duty free any time I've been in the airport!!  If they have it I'll buy it there - think they might have those mini kegs but not certain.

Take a look at 24 Hour Alcohol Bristol for a map of all shops in Bristol that are licensed to sell alcohol 24 hours a day.

I know it's too late for you this time, but hopefully this information will help you, or someone else, in the future.

:)
