Has to be the cold beer exchange for me that you get at Leeds/TITP/Rockness (i think).
I know this is cos of the sponsorship and it prob would never happen at Glasto but would be braw if they did. mmmmmmm cold Budweiser mmmmmmmmmm.
It could be done too, where people just hand them in then go back later and pick up the same/similar beers, you would have to start it with tokens to begin with but once it was well up and running (day2 maybe) it would be just a case of exchanging your beers for ice cold nectar.

Cup deposit scheme. Encourages people to not drop litter and also provides a revenue stream for skint punters, 38 cups = 1 free pint = less need for litter pickers = place looks cleaner throughout the day rather than starting good and ending crap so much.
I'd mention it doesn't leave it completely clean. This was my son on the main stage about an hour after metallica had finished and the clean up crew are nearly done.

PS: sorry to my son for posting an image of him with THAT hair

I'd second that, maybe take it further, Latitude style, biodegradable fairly stiff plastic cups, couple of quid deposit.

Yeah, CEJX posted about that and I'm also a huge supporter. I am not a believer in disposable goods. I would imagine that it is the beer vendors who are against this, as filling trays of disposable cups is how they like to do it, not individually pouring pints into a glass someone has provided.
The comparison on the waste it causes is tremendous though, as illustrated in my pic they clear the arena area at reading in about 2-3 hours with a team of only a dozen or so. Compare that to the teams that have to mow through pyramid, other and jazzworld every morning. Glastonbury is surely the worst festival for litter? I havent been to V but reading wasn't as bad (although the campsites were worse/comparable with glastonbury 09).
Don't drop your crap please folks, it makes the place look like a dump and I don't get why some people like sleeping amongst what looks like a landfill site.

Definitely a fan of the Chilled T at TITP - order a 24 pack of beer online before you leave, collect it in the campsite nice and chilled!
You can even specify which day you want to pick it up on, so could order one chilled 24 pack for Thursday and another for Saturday
...looks as though they've added Magners this year too! http://www.tennents.com/bechilled/

The communal showers are an absolute God send at Benicassim and the Water Park opposite the site ain't too bad either!
As far as English festivals go, they had a Dominos at Leeds last year and pizza is the one thing that Glastonbury just doesn't do very well.

Pretty sure you could order Dominos at Glasto last year? Did anyone do this?

Every year there are posts on efestivals with people saying "be clean don't leave your litter behind, every time I see a paper cup on the floor it makes me sad" (I'm not saying you're doing this btw) thing is, there will always be litter, people put things down and forget about them, particularly in crowds, every paper cup on the floor hasn't been left there because someone was being lazy.
The cup collection schemes work really well not because people take back their own cups but because people pick up the ones on the floor. Glastonbury really needs to do something like this, maybe tuboug see it as some free advertising....
Beer for rubbish schemes in camp sites also work pretty well although to be fair to glastonbury they so have a lot more camp site bins than most festivals.
Different point, if our campsite has a bin bag full on rubbish, what are we supposed to do with it? The bins have covers on we've left them next to the bin the past but last year this lady started shouting at me for not putting my litter in the bin!

Don't the returnable cups have to be sent off site for cleaning / sterilising / checking leaks and so on before they can be re-used? must add alot to the overall price compared to a paper cup.

Best thing you've seen at other festivals? Well, there was this bloke at stonehenge in '84 selling lines of charlie with half a crushed blue microdot in them...
