As I was saying over in the weather thread - there's always the last resort method for keeping warm employed by Mark in an episode of Peep Show - pee on your own legs.

Moving the heat from your insides to your outside. Nah.

People sleep during the night?
Kip when the festival is at it's quietest between 5&10am, it's warming up by then :)

Why be so selfish?
Help others.

Pee on their legs.

I wonder if I can use that excuse if I accidently wet myself? "I was cold so wanted to warm myself up"

Can't you wear a hat in the day to cover your hat hair? :P

What if someone steals my hat from my head? Then I would have shameful hat hair and everyone would see it...  :P

The worst point is that moment when you wake up in your 45236 layers in sauna like temperatures once the sun has come up.

I second this! and youve somehow spun around ten thousand times in your sleeping bag and find yourself trapped in a cocoon. Terrifying!

I always take a beach lilo. Given that you tend to crash heavily for only a few hours it does just as good a job of keeping you off the ground and is far lighter than an airbed.

Helps me lie back and enjoy the 6am sauna as well

I just wear lots of socks and use a roll mat thing, but then I don't really feel the cold.

Go to bed 15 minutes before whoever your camping with.

I did this last year with my partner.

Got in my sleeping bag, then got into his whilst wearing mine. Mmm double sleeping bag cosy.

No matter how hot/cold it is during the day, we all know how bloody FREEZING it is when we finally settle down for a few hours kip at night. How do you all stay warm? I'd love to take duvets and blankets but they just won't fit in. I'll probably just take one additional blanket as well as my sleeping bag.

Any tips from the Glasto veterans?

Beer blanket.  Failing that some hand warmers in your socks

I hate being cold, really makes me miserable! So I'm taking with me:
A sleeping bag
A silk liner
A blanket
Airbed to keep me off the cold ground
Mini hot water bottle
Highlander hand warmer and charcoal sticks
Thermals
Very woolly hat and lots of socks

I also bought a tent carpet as an extra layer to hopefully insulate the floor of the tent a bit. Someone suggested putting a space blanket underneath the blanket to reflect some of the cold back out, would that work? Or would I be better trying to fit a space blanket layer in my sleeping bag somewhere?

Really hate being cold!

I take it that I can say to one of my mates (who I'm camping with) that you said it was OK if I got in to their sleeping bag with them while in my own sleeping bag. Just to keep warm kind of a thing!  :)
