While you are there:

- Be discreet with any valuables you have on you and keep them securely in a pocket. Experience shows that it's in big crowds and 'mosh pits' close to stages that the thieves are more likely to target you.

Nope. Experience shows that it's while you're asleep in your tent on Wednesday or Thursday night that thieves are more likely to target you. Bastards.

The police rightly advise people to use the lockups, but should also have advised people to ensure anything they have in their tent is in the bottom of their sleeping bag or attached securely 'to your person' on a money belt etc.

Not exactly fashionable but bumbags are perfect for carrying phone, cash, cigarettes whilst wandering about. Half cut laid on the grass; phones always fall out of pockets. Also in big crowds theives will have anything out of back pockets etc.

Careful not to lose the 'bag though or u lost the lot in one go!

I wouldn't recommend the bottom of the sleeping bag, simply because there are anecdotal tales of scrotes cutting the sleeping bag if they feel something at the bottom of it. Keep things in the middle of the sleeping bag.

I wear combats which have zipped or buttoned pockets, this makes it much harder for things to fall out or for pockets to be picked. The only thing I normally keep in my back pocket is Gaviscon.
