Hi folks.
I've lurked on the forum for years & followed all the antics (but never post for some reason), hopefully this will brighten a ticket-less persons day though.
My son has decided much to his dismay, that he hasn't revised enough for his A levels, & must forgo Glasto this year. Very hard decision (I'm quite proud of him really), as the rest of us will still be enjoying a cider or two whilst he has his nose in a book.
Now I don't want to cause a ruckus, as we're certainly not ticket-touts, but....... If someone wants to risk buying a ticket (face value price only) with another fellas face on it, with no certainty of entry & no refund, then we may be able to help.
My son is 20, although think he was 19 in the photo. Not the best pic of him, think he was drunk, or I was when I took the pic, & he has fair/strawberry blond hair. I will send a photo if someone wants to compare faces, although I'm a technophobe, so it may take a while.
Due to the time constraints, payment will need to be straight away, & I will post by special delivery. Or cash on collection if you're in the south west area? Sooner rather than later though, to allow me time still to post to someone else if I'm let down.
I hope this ticket will give joy to a deserving person who was unlucky in the original sales.
Peace x

****
Just a quick note for those who haven't read the whole thread.
The ticket is now gone thanks, although I'll re-post if anything changes.
Have a good festival people.
Peace x

Oops!
Just realised, I've got the wrong age, so many kids I get muddled :)
He's 19, photo could've been when he was 18.
He was only 8 months old for his first Glasto, it's such a shame he can't go.
Peace x

Well, I don't want to jump to conclusions, but both my kids are currently doing A levels.  My son has his final exam on the Tuesday before glastonbury (2nd year of A levels) and my daughter had her last one over a week ago (1st year of A levels) so there shouldn't really be any revision left for people to do.

Just saying.

yeah, I work for a college and set exam timetables etc and there's no way anyone should have any exams left after next Friday.

I'd be really careful about this one!!

The OP joined five years ago .....that would be some very long term planning for a scam.

Maybe its a college or UNI exam ??

I'm not condoning anything but I get bored of seeing misinformed people giving misinformation based on apparently nothing - having looked at only the AQA website you can see there are exams set for 24th and 27th of June for exams such as English. Perfectly feasible reason in my opinion!

Yes, that is also worth considering.  The fact that they are offering cash on collection counts very much for them.  I don't want to cast aspersions, personally, for that reason.

My boyfriend had to miss Glastonbury last year as he had one of his finals at the same time, so I wouldn't say this is impossible..

Hi, sorry, but as you've quoted me.  I'll say again, I don't want to make any accusations, but there's no misinformation or misinformation from me.  My kids exams are exactly as stated.

I didn't mean to come off sounding horrible then but I think I achieved it. What I meant is opinion dressed as fact is misleading - "so there shouldn't really be any revision left for people to do." :)

Yeah, that's fair comment.  I wasn't trying to give anything more than opinion and, to be honest, I don't take anything that anyone says here as anything other than opinion personally.  A large part of the world's problems is related to people thinking that believing something is the same as knowing something :)

Like I'd said afterwards, having re-read the post the OP is offering cash in person, which is a good sign that there is nothing to worry about.

I have enquired after this ticket and I don't think it's a scam.

The picture of her son is very clear and pretty distinctive. I think they would have gone for a less distinct shot of a more generic looking young person if it was a scam.

Also - she has happily communicated with me by email and linked up via a friend request on an active facebook account.

If you are seeking a ticket which you think could be a match for this spare, then pursue it and make your own mind up. Personally I would have hoped to have met her there, and exchanged money for ticket on site this close to the date. We set off on Monday for a couple of days away pre-Glastonbury so it would be a bit late to enter into postal communication. If this worked out, then our son would travel on Thursday or Friday and one of us go out to meet him with the ticket. What could go wrong?
