How far away from site can you receive worthy fm on the wireless? Coming from the north

Depends on the lie of the land and weather conditions a bit, but generally for around a 20 mile radius around the site. You could pick us up in south Bristol last year, so you might be able to get us around Bristol on the M5 perhaps. Tune to 87.7fm and wait til we crackle out of the static!

Silly techie question, but what power transmitter do you use?

cant wait, there is a service station coming off the M5 and turning to Glasto, that is where we normally start to get fleeting reception, that is a pretty immense moment

Is this still planned for a 12pm start today?

Morning all, I was hoping to listen to Worthy FM at work for the next couple of days. The link to stream on the Glastonbury Festivals web site (http://www.glastonbu...-worthy-fm-live) doesn't seem to work.
Any ideas, or will it not work until midday?
Cheers.
Signed.

Ah, good point, didn't spot the 2010 bit, must be due to my Monday fuzzy head.
I'll have a scoot at their website at midday.
Cheers for the response.

Begin geeky tech post
I have nothing to do with the station so this may be wrong, but i believe they are licensed under Ofcom's SRSL, this would allow a maximum power of 25W ERP (effective radiated power) or 1W ERP depending on the power tier of the license. Effective Radiated Power is a combination of transmitter power and antenna gain, so the transmitter itself is probably somewhere between a few hundred milliwatts a couple of watts at most.
I would be interested to hear if this is correct or not from someone involved with the station.
End geeky tech post

I'm not a technical person, but that sounds like the conversation I had with our techy bloke the other day for sure.

Just got it working here but having problems with buffering. Just played Don Mcleans "American Pie" (which I have never liked!) and now into Chase and Status, but if the buffering problems doesnt stop very soon then its bck to my iPod.

Just given up - the endless stuttering was just too much. Seems like there is a bottleneck in teh signal somewhere and I dont think it is at my end.
