We have 3 friends that are hoping they can join us in the campervan field by putting their tent behind our campervan. They can't arrive till the wednesday so are having to drive. Is it still OK for them to join us? They realise they are going to have to park in the normal carparks but was wondering if it's easy for them to get access.

As long as they park at the same side as you it should be relatively easy. If you are in the East the car parks are close to the campervan fields, never been in West but again they are close, they may need to enter the festival via gate D and leave again to join you via gate E. It will be a long walk if they park the wrong side though!

Thanks mate :)

I assume that they will have no problem actually entering the field? I don't actually know how big their tent is but I have told them it can't be too big. What kind of space do you get in a pitch?

Anyone can enter/exit the campervan fields at anytime day and night.

Yep could be a long walk if you both park on opposite sides of the site. Having said that, not an unpleasant walk by any means. Why don't you take as much stuff of theirs with you in your campervan to ease their arrival.

Compared to camping on site, loads! Generally the size given is 6m x 7m. There will be room for a tent, just mention to the stewards parking you that there needs to be space for a tent and they will tell you where it pitching to comply with the fire regulations. Anyone can enter the fields and most people parked in East walk through anyway on the way to gate D.

Can you take their tent with you in your campervan? That way you can put it up for them when you set up your pitch, ensuring you have space.

If not, as others have said, just make sure the stewards know you have a tent coming too and you should be fine for space.

Yeah this is what we are doing, we are basically taking all of their stuff, alcohol tents etc and it's a 2 of those cube popup tents joined together so should be ok, they don't actually take up too much space.

Wont be an issue, did it last year. Full ticket or hlaf and wristband will get you into campervan field on foot. Just make sure you park the right side of the festival. You will probably need to arrive in the right direction as you will get waved into first car park, not necessarily the one you want.

I think the post code for the East CV parks is BA4 6TA, which is on the A37: http://www.bing.com/...zgzOTYyNDgyNQ==

Our friends follow us in every year and we pitch a tent for them next to our caravan. Tell your mates to follow the BLUE route and they can always ask directions to the East car parks. The road splits after Shepton Mallett and instead of turning right towards Pilton and Glastonbury to stay on the road bearing left until you see the signs on the right directing you to the east car parks. If you carry their stuff they can just park up and walk to whatever CV field number you're in. Easy life! have a great festival and I hope your mates have one too  :D

Thanks so much for the help guys - first year for us in a camper as we only bought it in March (we only got it mechanically sound last week!!) so really looking forward to it. We've gone completely overboard on buying stuff through excitment :D

Hope you all have a great festival.

Just to add a further question on this, does anyone know if our friend (a girl on her own) will be able to get pedestrian access to the campervan field on Tuesday night, assuming she parks on the same side of the site that we are in?

Oficially no, but i'm unsure the stewards will stop her especially if she has no camping gear
