We are not sure if my mates campervan will be repaired in time for the festival. So we may end up camping, but won't be arriving until Thursday evening this year, so are considering using a service like this if the campervan is a nono.

Worried about arriving in the dark and struggling to find a decent pitch with us arriving on Thursday.

It does sound a lot to pay £50 on top of the cost of the tent just for someone to put it up for you.

Yes, and goodness knows where you'll end up, as far away as possible i imagine

The fact that the description sounds like a idiots written it would put me off straight away.
If they can't put in the effort to actually describe it clearly, I dread to think about where the tents are put up and if they're any good...

There was someone on here selling their MyHab tent the other day, more expensive but better facilities and probably a bit more legit...

Hmmm, an interesting concept - maybe I should try and fund my 2013 festival with this :P.

For the OP - where do you live and where you want to camp?  I'm planning to be there earlyish Wednesday, so if both are workable, don't mind setting a tent up for you, no-charge :).

I've heard a few people getting very interested in their tent's hydrostatic head, but it's actually a red herring.  When I was a kid we used to camp in canvas tents which would have had zero mm hydrostatic head.  The tents worked by conducting the water down the outside of the flysheet to the floor before it had a chance to drip through to the inner.  Tent design hasn't changed.  Unless you've got some bizarre design of tent which collects rain rather than shrugs it off then it will keep you dry provided it's erected properly, undamaged and with none of your stuff inside leaning against the flysheet.

The things I'd be concerned about would be the type of groundsheet (if you end up in a puddle, will it keep much out?), the amount of room for you and your kit and how cool it is - reflective silver and two entrances would help here.

I am willing to set up a tent for you for £50. Totally waterproof, excellent location, modern blue stripey design, roomy and highly desired. As long as you vacate before 11am and return after 12 it represents value for money. Send me a cheque made out to "John Peel Beer Money Ltd ".

id rather not risk it, but yea if you have stuff pressing against the inner, and onto the fly sheet that causes problems :(

i went for 2000mm anyway :)

the same ebayer has an auction for £30, to take your tent onsite, and put it up for you before you arrive. (so long as you get your tent to them in advance of them getting on site)

I'm guessing you'll find your tent pitched near the entrance to whichever crew camping area the auctioneer ends up in!, so it's likely to be close to the action rather than in the middle of nowhere or out in the sticks near to the public entrance gates ! but until they're on-site you wont know which field your tent would end up in! either way you'd probably end up camped with folks with a similar mindset who've had there tents put up for them too, which can only be a good thing !!

A nice service for those selling it, and a not too expensive price for a sense of comfort for those who feel they really need it ! - personally i'm heading to the car parks tuesday night ! - if anyone wants me to carry in their tent and put it up somewhere random for £30 ! please pm me :) (nothing bigger than a 4 man tnx!)

Did you get anything exciting?  (I'm a tent anorak - I spend small fortunes on mega-light ones for bicycle touring but my festival tent cost me peanuts 5 years ago, and I still swear it's the nearest thing to perfect there is.)

I'd avoid it as it's quite possibly a rip-off.

Glastonbury doesn't authorise anyone to pre-erect tents unless it's one of the options listed on the official website.

Funnier - someone has one which lists expected delivery date as the Thursday of the Festival.
So you can bid on a ticket that at best you'll have to wait around for the post on Thursday to get.
